Public Programs at Lyman Run State Park

Evening Paddle
August 28, 2009
7 pm

Enjoy a relaxing kayak paddle around Lyman Lake where wildlife abounds. Observe animals in their natural habitat. Participants must be at least 12 years old, and anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Life vests must be worn and can be provided. Registration is required by contacting the Lyman Run office. Meet at the boat launch.

Family Fly Fishing

12 pm to 4 pm

The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission and Lyman Run State Park are sponsoring a free educational Family Fly Fishing Program for families in our area. The program is open to families with children ages 8 and older, and a parent or guardian must accompany their children to this wonderful event. There is no fishing license required and we’ll even provide the fishing equipment!
The program will include a welcome and introduction, presentations regarding SMART fishing, regulations, licenses, where to go, equipment, knots, rigging and flies, casting skills, and a family fishing session on the water.
More information for Family Fishing Programs can be found at www.fish.state.pa.us. Reservations are required for this event, which is limited to 20 people, so be sure to register soon! Please contact Lyman Run State Park to register or for additional information. The registration Deadline is Saturday, August 29, 2009, and the program will be held rain or shine.

I called Friday the 28th to register for the Fly Fishing and it had all ready been canceled due to lack of interest.
