Arthur E. "Bub" Kautz, 87, of 209 E. Third St., Emporium formerly of Beechwood died at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA

on Wednesday afternoon October 28, 2009.

He was born May 15, 1922 in Emporium, PA a son of the late Arthur J. Kautz and Lena McManus Kautz.

On October 3, 1942 in Emporium he married the late Lurline Miller Kautz.

Mr. Kauts served with the US Navy in the South Pacific aboard the DD660 USS Bullard, Destroyer, during WW II. He was a retired plumber and had been the owner of AJ Kautz Plumbing Heating & Cooling in Emporium. He was also a grounds keeper for Bernie Erskine farm. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as Trustee and Deacon of the church. He was a member, for over 50 years, of the Emporium Lodge #382, F.and A.M. and also the Coudersport Consistery. He was a member of the Miller-Raffaele Post 6221 VFW, a lifetime member of the Cameron County Historical Society and a member of the Bucktail Camper and Hikers Association.

Funeral Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium on Monday (November 2, 2009) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Philip Sanders, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

A Military Service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail. Visitation with Video Tribute will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM where a Masonic Service will take place at 7:45 PM.

Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA

Memorial Contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 205 E. 4th Street, Emporium, PA 15834 or to Cameron County Historical Society, PO Box 433, Emporium, PA 15834 or to the Guy & Mary Felt Manor, 110 East 4th Street, Emporium, PA 15834
