Brenton H. Benson, 48, of Barden Brook Road, Eldred, PA

ELDRED, PA - Brenton H. Benson, 48, of Barden Brook Road died Saturday (October 17, 2009) in Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY, from injuries sustained in a farming accident.

Born Jan. 22, 1961, in Olean, NY, he was a son of Richard H. and Marjorie J. Redington Benson. On April 24, 1993, in Bethel Lutheran Church in Portville, NY, he married Jean M. Kennedy, who survives.

Mr. Benson attended Otto-Eldred High School and was a lifetime resident of Eldred, PA. He had been employed by Asplundh Tree Co. for many years and then was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in McKean County for the past 12 years.

He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Portville, NY. He enjoyed canoeing, hunting, fishing and yard sales. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and other family members.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his mother of Eldred, PA; two daughters, Pvt. 1st Class Crystal Sue Benson, who is serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq, and Abigail E. Benson at home; twin granddaughters, Emily Renee Benson and Melony Anne Benson; a brother, Richard (Sue Burkholder) Benson of Lockport, NY; five sisters, Lorna (Dock) Sloan of Gettysburg, PA, Barbara (Robert) MacPhearson of Eldred, PA, Ellie (Eugene) McMartin of Thermopolis, WY, Melanie (William) Sampson of Stafford, VA, and Becky (Jesse) Cliff of Eldred, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and twin sons, Brenton Benson and Vincent Benson in 1986.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Frame Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 22, 2009) at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastor Paula Roulette officiating. Burial will be in the Bensons' Brenton-Vincent Memorial Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Brenton-Vincent Memorial Cemetery, 699 Barden Brook Road, Eldred, PA 16731.
