Cinnamon Bear In Port Allegany Area

Click photo to enlarge
Jim,
Here is a Cinnamon colored bear that was in our side yard Monday afternoon on Bemis Road in Port Allegany. My husband was able to get a couple pictures of it. Just wanted to share the photo because from my understanding these bears are very unusual to see.

Thanks for sharing the picture, very nice looking bear. I have seen several black ones this year but no brown ones, thanks!

This bear was in my yard literally inches away from my dogs on Wednesday. The game warden was called and he said it is a rare bear, "cinnamon bear." It was the first he has seen. The bear had a tag in its ear indicating that it meandered to McKean County from Potter County. Aprox 2 years of age female. The bear is sick and was taken to State College to the PA game commission vet. We have pics up close to the bear, it thought it was one of my dogs. It hung around snuggled up close as it could get to the fence all day.
