Clyde R. Galbreath, 98, of 325 West Washington St., Bradford, PA

Bradford, PA--Clyde R. Galbreath, 98, of 325 West Washington St. Bradford, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009 at the Bradford Manor.

Born October 26, 1910, in Belltown, he was a son of the late Merle H. and Ida (Edeburn) Galbreath.
He attended grade school in Belltown and Zimmerman High School.

On August 15, 1987 in Warren, he married Viola (Doverspike) Galbreath who survives.

He was formerly employed at the United Natural Gas Company, the Knox Glass Works in Marienville, then Messer Oil Company, and South Penn Oil Company. From 1941 to 1961 he owned and operated the Cyclone Service Station. He later worked as a Road Salesman for Smethport Auto and he retired in 1965.

He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, he served on the Church Board, and chaired the Trustee Board. Prior to joining the Church of the Nazarene he was an active member of the Cyclone Free Methodist Church and served as a teacher as well as Superintendent of the Sunday School for many years.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Rev. Viola Galbreath, is one son Richard L. (Beverly) Galbreath of Lakeland Fl, one daughter in law, Martha Galbreath of Camp Hill, a stepson, Paul (Helen) Burch of Jamestown, two step daughters, Hazel Intihar of Frewsburg and Vivian Johnson, of Russell, one brother in law, Lowell Young, of Emporium, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Irene (Payne) Galbreath, his second wife, Marie (Lasher) Galbreath, one son, James M. Galbreath, one sister, Grace Young and one brother, Edwin Galbreath.

Family will be receiving friends on Sunday, October 4, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8PM in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St. and again on Monday, October 5th, in the First Church of the Nazarene from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at which time funeral and committal will be held with Rev. Timothy D. Brown, pastor officiating.

Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park
