GO DAWN! FINALLY A PUBLIC OFFICIAL WITH GUTS TO STAND UP FOR WHAT'S RIGHT! sORRY YOU'VE HAD TO PUT UP WITH THAY GESTAPO POLICE MENTALITY FOR TWO YEARS! GOOD FOR YOU FOR FIGHTING FOR THE PUBLIC! YOU HAVE MY WRITE-IN (TYPE-IN) VOTE!

Anonymous said...

I'm afraid Potter County did itself a dis-service in the primary election by voting Andy in! It seemed like a good idea at the time, then we find out he deceived the voters with his false promise to save us $100,000 a year. Then we find out some guy with a Southern accent (Georgia?) will be assistant DA with Andy and he has no experience in criminal law. Then we find out that Dawn has the guts to stand up to the State Police big boys! GO DAWN! You surely have my write-in vote now!

Anonymous said...

I have to wonder what was going on with the "bad apples" shady charges before Dawn was elected?

Now that an old DA team member will be back, is it the good ole boy system again?

Anonymous said...

How quickly we all forgot about the Leber era! I agree with 8:20!! Little is known about the new ADA, er I mean little is said!

Anonymous said...

Give me a break..Could the Leader Enterprise have been any more blatant with their front page story this week! The Leader would like to see anyone OTHER than Andy in there and that's simply not fair or appropriate. Any intelligent voter knows why that story was placed and no one can convince me that the timing was coincidental. We don't need Dawn Fink - the primaries showed that and the general election will as well! Go Andy!!!

Anonymous said...

Anyone could have seen this coming. First the big deal/poll about Andy and the $$. Then the big Enterprise story to promote their chosen candidate. It's a blatant attempt to get some votes for the primary loser.

Anonymous said...

I disagree with those 9:19! If Dawn the the Enterprise were in kahoots, don't you think Dawn would have had them break the State Police story before now! It's the weekend before the election! It appears Dawn has been putting up with the corporal's nonsense for 2 years! It could have been raised way before the primary if it was for political purposes! And anyways, it doesn't change the fact that Dawn HAS done and CONTINUES to do a great job. This "conspiracy" theory sounds like a bunch of paranoia! I voted for Dawn the first time and I'm writing her in this time. Potter County is lucky to have her!

Anonymous said...

This represents thumbing her nose at both the Democratic and Republican parties who chose somebody else as their nominee.
It is an insult to anyone with any sense of party loyalty.
She will "accept write-in votes"? What exactly does that mean? How can a person reject write-in votes.
This is ridiculous.
Watson was the choice of both parties in May. Case closed.

Anonymous said...

Forget the Fink-Enterprise conspiracy theory! I personally think that's a bunch of hog-wash! The Enterprise hasn't done Dawn any favors! They screwed up the story about Andy and his false promise, few understood that he had deceived the public! That was discovered on Solomon's Words by the bloggers! As to the police story, I don't care WHEN it came out. That's not the point. The point is that Fink serves the PUBLIC and not the state police! I admire that. It shows how much integrity Fink has. That could not have been easy to stand up to the top guns with their BS!!! GO DAWN! Hope yopu make it girl!

Anonymous said...

What worries me and should worry us all is that Dawn ISN'T running a write in campaign.

I saw the article as it being her way of putting her battle out there and letting us know that things are about to change when she is gone!

Anonymous said...

Sounds like another Ross Perot move to me. Write in a vote and take one from someone else. Just don't be upset with what you get.

Anonymous said...

You may question the timing, but can you disprove the facts in the story?

Anonymous said...

Dawn wasn't experienced or qualified when she was first elected so why would anyone write in her name this election. To say She has the "guts" to go after the State Police officers is a joke, funny it makes big news just before the election. Good job promoting her Leader "empty"prise Andy had my vote in the primary and will again Tues. Good Luck Andy.

Anonymous said...

WOW, like this was a surprise! But like most things in her realm....she's alittle late ;(

Anonymous said...

. . . I did feel duped that first Andy was not going to take the money, and now he is. I know things are tight in the county, but to use that tactic to get votes by taking a lessor salary, is lower than low!. . .Why should this surprise any of us. The election was pretty close, 200 some votes. . . Ask the last set of commissioners, prior to ones we have now if a write in campaign can be successful. Stranger things have happened! Good Luck DAWN!

Anonymous said...

@8:55 and everyone else. What does the ADA have to do with the election? No one knew anything about Dawn's ADA when she ran FOUR years ago.

As far as being honest and standing up against the state police. I'll wait to hear from the state police before I pass judgment. There is always two sides to every story. Im sure at this point Dawn would write darn near anything to win votes. You cant believe everything printed in the Leader Liar. Weren't they supporters of Dawn Fink in the primary? This is starting to look like free advertising, not news reporting. How do we know its the truth?

Good ole boy system is right, just get in good with Don and Kim and you will be taken care of.

Anonymous said...

Well the front story of the Potter paper is ver dis-heartening to me. First the State Police make an ungodly amount of money and they always seem to have that chip on thier sholder. Then we come down to the local police. The are lucky to make $30,000 a year and strap the gun to thier side. I'm certainly glad its not them in the spot light, so this tells me something is going good in the small departments. Not sayin that there isn't ghosts in the closet but it seems that the locals have good heads on thier sholders and aren't out there trolling.
Good job local police. I don't seem to understand why Fink all of a sudden wants to run. She thre the towel in sometime ago. Whats up with that. Has she come knocked at your door asking what the public's wants and needs are and ever thier expectation of the Da's position. I think not. Sorry but you had the chance fink and threw it away. See ya in 4 years. Try again.

Anonymous said...

What about all of us that work out of town and already voted absentee?Do our candidates just assume it's ok to make such important announcements at the last minute?Too late for this vote..

Anonymous said...

You can count on two more votes from this household. Glad to hear that you accepted to go on a write in!! Get the word out.

Anonymous said...

im planning on being at the polls to help promote dawn - stop by illgive youa tissue to cry and whine with. ---

GO DAWN!

Anonymous said...

Dawn Fink is just what Potter Co. needs, she has done a wonderful job.

Anonymous said...

Go Andy, you have our support!

Anonymous said...

You have my vote Dawn, voted for you in the primary and will write you in now!

Anonymous said...

If Fink really wanted the job, she would have been campaigning for it...Again, the DA salary IS NOT SET BY THE COUNTY - it's a state mandate and a non-issue in the DA election...Anyone who thinks it is, really isn't intelligent enough to be casting a vote!

Anonymous said...

9:35 your statement is completely ridiculous and shows your intelligence level.

Despite who sets the salary, the fact remains that Andy mislead the voters about it.

For you to tell the voters that they lack intelligence because this is an issue for them is just absurd.

It is quite apparent that you support Andy. I however will be supporting the candidate I feel has integrity and that surely isn't Andy Watson.

Go Dawn you have my write in!

Anonymous said...

I'll be voting for Dawn. Way to go Dawn!!!

Anonymous said...

It amazes me 9:35 that you call the voters who were unaware of salary standards stupid, and yet Andy himself says he was not aware that he could not accept less.

How dare you criticize the voters based on that issue when Andy himself didn't even know!

What a joke....and what a joke this election has been.

I voted for Andy in the primary, but now I realize that was a mistake.

I'd rather not have Leber's protege in office where he can mislead the public as he has already done in the election process.

Dawn will have my vote Tuesday.

Anonymous said...

Lets just hope this article gets everyone out to vote that thought maybe Andy had it in the bag and weren't going to bother to go to the polls. Everyone needs to get out and show what the primary proved........that Dawn Fink isn't what people want!

Anonymous said...

Maybe you don't want Dawn, but I don't want Andy that is for sure.

He was dishonest during this election and I have personally witnessed his dishonesty in the courtroom.

I didn't bother voting in the primary, but sure will be voting this time around and it won't be for Andy.

I never thought I'd write in Dawn Fink, but after everything I have seen since the primary, I will now.

Anonymous said...

That article is a witch hunt. I was arrested for DUI by a different trooper and he asked me drug related questions without my miranda warnings. Why was my case legal and others werent? My attorney told me everything was done correctly. (Before anyone says it, my attorney was from down state with much more experience than Dawn - I trust him)

If it took Dawn 2 years to do something on simple DUI charges how long would it take her to "seek justice" on more serious charges. She lost the primary and is about to be out of a job so it looks like she is taking cheap shots before she goes. I dont want someone this unprofessional as DA.

Go Andy.

Anonymous said...

10:30 nailed it.
Not a time for all loyal Republicans or Democrats to be complacent. Your party selected a nominee for the job, so get out there and support him.
The statistical breakdown of these comments is nonsense. Junk science. I predict she will not get 15 percent of the vote. It is not even worth tracking.
The real race is whether Fink or Howell will get the most votes as the minor distractions that they are in trying to usurp the role of the Republican and Democratic parties.
She could not win when she was ON the ballot even with the strength of incumbency and a well-known name.
That does not bode well for November 3.

Anonymous said...

11:26...andy would prosecute you too....don't drive drunk idiot, and dont blame the dawn. You were asked drug related questions before your Miranda rights were given, that was wrong and I understand, but were you drunk? If so, you had every right to be prosecuted because she had evidence enough that you were. you don't seem to shed light on that!! what was your BAC?

Anonymous said...

SURPRISE!!! Dawn will except write ins. This all came out like this because Dawn is running her bid to be re elected like she ran her office. She is lazy. Let someone else do all the work she takes the glory!!! Ask her first ADA. I think she got tired of doing all the hard work and Dawn taking the credit.

Anonymous said...

To say that Dawn is not experienced is RIDICULOUS! If I remember right, she practiced law, including CRIMINAL LAW for 14 years BEFORE SHE EVEN RAN FOR DA! (she's older than she looks). Now she has four years as DA under her belt and that's FOUR MORE YEARS THAN ANDY HAS! In my view, she has done a commendable job as DA. Lots of child molester convictions, hundreds of REAL DUI's, no more fist fights in the court room like in the Leber-Watson years. AND the has the b----s to stand up for what's right! Not to mention the fact that she never deceived the public about anything! VOTE FINK ON TUESDAY!

Anonymous said...

Even though Dawn has not officially launched a write-in campaign, I am definitely writing her in. Actually, I think we need to TYPE her in. Apparently, she is planning on opening a private practice from what I hear, but says she would stay if the voters decided to write her in. GO DAWN!

Anonymous said...

I agree with 11:32. All Dawn is doing is screwing up the votes for the other two candidates and hoping to draw away from Glassmire. And JACKSON HOWELL?!? I wouldn't think anybody in Coudersport would be stupid enough to waste that vote.
(This fits!) Right Jimmy?
"Bucking?"
Betcha THIS one won't make the blog.

Anonymous said...

Looks like Dawn is already taking away some of the votes right here on this blog. And for what? So a certain person doesn't get them? You Betcha!

Anonymous said...

go ANDY you have me and my families vote you deserve it

Anonymous said...

11:54 my situation sounds just like the DUI arrests "the Dawn" refused to prosecute from the bad apple. My point was that front page story sounds more like a personal problem with the bad apple, rather than a bad apple not following the rules.

I didnt have a bac, it was drug related. BTW pot should be legal, as long as you dont drive :P

Anonymous said...

Hey 1:34 I agree, legalize marijuana.

Make it illegal to drive while under the influence though.

Where is Dawn Fink? Does she think marijuana should be legalized? How about you Andy? I know you both read this blog so for once I'd like a response from both of you on this and all the other matters at hand!

Anonymous said...

1:34....rules are rules. She consulted with fellow county prosecutors and others in the legal system, and Rothermel has no right to do things like that. Your lawyer should have gotten you off if he was that good...if your case was exactly the same as the others, then u should have been vindicated. You weren't, so they must have had something. Sorry...I had a DUI too, but I was guilty.

Anonymous said...

1:34 re-read the article then without smoking the mary jane....might know what your talking about then. Your a GREAT example of why pot should be legal!

Anonymous said...

I personally know a lot of people in my town whom didn't vote in the primary but are sures in the hell gonna vote Tues.for write in DAWN FINK.

Anonymous said...

Now let's see. If Andy wins, his assistant will be David Ross.If Minor wins he will judge cases tried by the ADA Ross. Guess what, David Ross is Steve Minor's cousin. Do you think anyone will have a chance of a fair trial?
Just think, people of Potter County, of what is happening!

Anonymous said...

Dawn never deceived the voters and even though she has not campaigned as a write in candidate, i'LL GLADLY WRITE HER IN. To say she is lazy is ridiculous! I read that our DA's office prosecutes between 400-500 cases each year and she only has a part time DA to help her. From what I read, she does a dozen or so trials a year! (I know that Tioga only had THREE trials last year because my cousin works at the courthouse in Wellsboro). And as far as voting for your party, that idea is long gone! Most folks vote for the PERSON and not the PARTY these days and I'm voting for Dawn!

Anonymous said...

Dawn only lost by two or three hundred votes in the spring. It's not over, folks! That's whata general election is all about. People can cross-party and Independents can vote in this election. That's the American way! John Torok won on a write-in that was launched only a few days before the general election! GO DAWN!

Anonymous said...

12:03? Where do you people come from?? Her first ADA is working with her again now?? Hardly sounds like bad blood because Ms. Fink is lazy. Get your facts straight!

Anonymous said...

To 5:33.......so, Andy's DA is Steve's cousin.......Steve and Dawn go to the same church. I'm not sure even blood is thicker than Tabernacle water!

Anonymous said...

@2:55 my case does sound just like the one in the paper. (I should know I was there.) The biggest difference was the arresting trooper. Is it a bad apple or is it bad blood? You do the math.

Anonymous said...

Who cares what church anyone goes to? You sound like you're from the dark ages! I'm a Lutheran. What does that have to do with whether or not I would serve the county well or be a good prosecutor? That just sounds bigoted to me!

Anonymous said...

How about we step up here and give the job to the lawyer that knows the law. Not the one that has to have it explained to him by a newspaper reporter. (should have been the title) how soon we forget the enterprise is the one that cost her the primary printing the trash that she supposedly didn't want to prosecute child molesters. (who wants to put the kid through a trial). Forcing that little kid to show up will be just the kind on nonsense you will get back, how about the time Andy ask Jarett Smith to "step out side" Or when in open Court he yelled at the judge your weak on drug dealers. Is this the consummate professional potter county is looking for in a DA?

Anonymous said...

Regarding the ADA's... I believe Dawn's first ADA was from Wellsboro. Her name was Mary Morris. Short, blonde. I've seen her on the street. Heard good things about her. Then she was offered the same job in Wellsboro and took that because of the travel situation. Then Dawn hired Jessica Songster, a Coudy girl who did well too. She recently took a job with oil/gas and is making $$$$$. Mary then agreed to come back since she only works PT in Tioga County. I think they were both good attorneys. I don't know this Dave Ross and haven't really heard anything about him one way or the other.

Anonymous said...

I was honestly surprised that Dawn didn't get on the ballot in the spring. Everything I heard about her job as DA was positive! I do know that Andy campaigned every day, all day long and Dawn refused to use any work time to campaign. When she came to my house campaigning, I told her that I saw Andy doing door-to-door with his partner, Dave Ross during the work day. She said she wished she could, but didn't feel right about campaigning until after the workday was over becasue she works for the public. It was 8:30 or 9 when she got to my house, but I didn't care. I've always liked Dawn and her whole family.

Anonymous said...

To the poster that said "who cares what church" must not remember that 20 some years ago, Dawn's father was thrown off the bench. Much of the reasoning was because of his "church" decisions instead of law decisions. So, in that case, it mattered very much.

Anonymous said...

This is what I want to know . . . these sneaky police tactics by this bad apple, How are you going to handle this Watson? How will you handle these cases, especially since you and Rothermel are good buddies? WARNING Potter County! I hope you see it.

Anonymous said...

Now I knew HB well and was aware of the whole situation those many years ago. HB was a great judge and was taken off the bench because lawyers here, inc DAN GLASSMIRE didn't like the way he did things. For instance, he held them accountable for the extravagent attorney's fees they charged. They just used the religious stuff to make a case against HB. He kept "A Cross in my Pocket' cards in the waiting room for anyone to read, etc. But none of this has anything to do with the DA race. I have NEVER heard of Dawn doing anything that even APPEARED improper. Quite the contrary. She has worked to keep things on the up and up. Not sure that Andy would do the same...

Anonymous said...

So, we can judge Andy by his past association with Jeff Leber, but we can't judge Dawn by the practices of her father whom she worked with MANY years?? Hmmm double standards abound!

Anonymous said...

GO Dawn! Let the voters wake up on Wednesday to find that we still have a great DA! We're with you!

Anonymous said...

Rant rant rant, let's see if you people put your vote where your mouth is on tuesday

Anonymous said...

I to don't even live in Potter County, but in two separate cases have been invoved with one of PSP's bad apples. I will say finally someone brings to light some of the stuff they pull and try to pull. I don't know when protect and serve became harass and arrest. No I not a big fan of Dawn but I give her a big STAR for telling what the bad apples have been doing.

Anonymous said...

It seems there was another sneaky trooper in the mid 90's I think his name was Taylor. Sounds like we are going down the same bad road with the above named trooper. We as citizens have rights, we can get arrested for stalking, why can the cops do it?

Anonymous said...

I think that the news article made it clear that this isn't a problem with Potter County's Law Enforcement, this is one Officer! His name and his bad procedures are what the article in the Leader talks about.

Anonymous said...

Hello;

Potter County is known for where they sent the mis-fit troopers. Why else would one wanna come here.

Anonymous said...

Five or six years ago, I had a hearing at DJ Easton's. Not a big case, but I hired a lawyer because I didn't want the points on my record. Anyways, Andy Watosn was there as the Assistant Da to prosecute the case. I COULD NOT believe the way that he treated the DJ! He was EXTREMELY disrespectful! He argued with her, yelled at her. I thought I was in the Twilight Zone! I decided right there and then that I could never support him if he ran. In all fairness, maybe he's grown up a little since then, I don't know.

Anonymous said...

All these pro-Fink posts are being written by a mere handful of her supporters. The real vote was last spring in the Primary Election.

Anonymous said...

I have to agree with 4:54 about DA Fink's close supporters writing all this stuff. Probably her staff in her office. The people I've talked to after church today are happy that Mr. Watson will soon be taking over as our District Attorney. It's all about confidence.

Anonymous said...

In my opinion there is no room in local government (DA's office) for such controversy with a police department and involving public safety. Somebody has to go, and we know it isn't going to be the Pennsylvania State Police. Something about this article in the Enterprise has a very foul odor.

Anonymous said...

"This is what I want to know . . . these sneaky police tactics by this bad apple, How are you going to handle this Watson? How will you handle these cases, especially since you and Rothermel are good buddies? WARNING Potter County! I hope you see it."

If andy is a buddy, he should answer this question. we cannot tolerate alledged Unconstitutional nazi jack booted thug tactics from one of our servant police force.

The floor is all yours andy.....

Dang...too bad for poor ol’ Randy Cimmino, and anyone else who got prosecuted...ya’all must have gotten pulled over by one of the “good apples”. Isn’t it an amazing “coincidence” that Dawn Fink’s “concern” over one Trooper’s job performance relative to DUIs is just now hitting the completely unbiased (choke, cough, sputter) Potter Leader- Enterprise, in a series written by none other than her good friend, Kimberly Hoak, mere days before the general election??? It is obviously no secret based on what I read in Ms. Hoak’s overly voluminous articles that Ms. Fink has much animosity for this Trooper and that there is apparently discord between her office and certain other Troopers at the Coudersport Barracks....too bad they’re not afforded the same ability to publicly voice their opinions about her job performance the way she is about theirs. We all know what a good judge of character she is...just look who she hired as county detective, and one would have to assume she did so without a thorough background check considering his record. Gee Dawn, what were you thinking?
Just some food for thought–if one of those people who were “so wrongly accused” in spite of acting suspicious or having tested positive for driving under the influence of controlled substances, either legal or illegal, had been let go and hit and killed someone or inflicted some type of bodily harm, what would your take on this be then???

Anonymous said...

Well, obviously some are pro-Fink posters and some are pro-Watson posters. THINGS HAVE CHANGED SINCE LAST SPRING! We found out that Andy deceived the voters when he announced that if elected, he would save the county $100,000 a year! Then Dawn gets even more convictions against those child predators. Then she gets the biggest felony conviction ever known to Potter County (over 200 felony drug counts). Then we learn that she has been trying to reign in a Gestapo state trooper for two years, only to have his supervisors look the other way because they protect their own. Fink didn't let that keep her from doing her job! YES, a LOT has changed since the spring election!

Anonymous said...

Well, where do I start? Hhhmm, maybe sing a little tune…who’s lying now. I do believe I heard after the primary that Ms. Fink, by her own admission, would not be running a write in campaign. I guess what she said was just misinterpreted, because we all know that she ALWAYS tells it like it is.

Anonymous said...

Its too bad that you’re running a popularity contest here instead of an election…hate to tell you this folks, but this election is NOT about who your friend is, or how nice so and so was to your family, or even who you go to church with. It is about the best person for the job…the one who pays attention to detail, and gets the job done, doesn’t carry around personal vendettas, and wait to “stand up to all the bs” a week before the election. Say what you want, think what you want….but most importantly, sort through all the BS and think for yourselves for a change. The best person for the job IS NOT Dawn Fink and if you truly thought she was, you would have voted for her in the primary…but this sudden flip-flop just goes to show how easily led down the garden path this community can be. You believe everything you read in your piss-poor example of a newspaper and every rumor you hear, and no one ever bothers to check out the facts or give anyone the benefit of the doubt. I’m not saying that Ms. Fink is not without her strong points, nor is Mr. Watson without his faults. However, to paraphrase a quote from the so-called debate “preparation, preparation, preparation”…when it comes down to it, he’d win hands down every time. While we’re at it, give me a break! I don’t recall having seen, heard, or read anything where Andy Watson formally announced who is ADA would be. Again, the power of your press at work—assumptions printed as fact. Does the phrase yellow journalism ring any bells? The only thing I personally am going to assume is that the article you all have taken as gospel was “gently edited” by the fine upstanding editors/reporter at the obviously pro-Fink Leader Enterprise and therefore anything printed within its confines should be taken with a grain of salt.

Anonymous said...

Andy, your're writing too many comments. Leave some room for other peoplr.

Anonymous said...

Is near is I can figure, it boils down to this. If you are a low life and are expecting to get a plea bargain or have the charges dropped, then defininately vote for Ms. Fink.

If you want the streets safe and the criminals in jail, then vote for Mr. Watson.

Didn't Mr. Watson actually say that when the State of Pa. failed to send the money for this position, he would not press the county to pay money they didn't have. I don't believe he said he would work for no pay.

Anonymous said...

@9:59

AMEN!! I want my streets safe!!

Anonymous said...

It appears to me that Fink has obtained PLENTY of convictions in her four years! All she is saying is that the cops have to do it the RIGHT way! That's her job, isn't it? Like it or not, Mr. Watson DID decieve the public about his salary. That's already been established. By the way, show me one thing that indicates the Enterprise is pro-Fink? I haven't seen anything either way and I read the paper every week unless I am out of town. Finally, this is a free country. It's a general election. People can vote for whomever they wish on a write-in. It's been done a # of times. I would say that it would be hard for Fink to win at this point, but vote your conscience. It's that simple. I haven't decided yet myself but am leaning toward Fink. I'm going to talk to some people who have seen them in court before I decide.

Anonymous said...

Are you kidding about the safer streets?? How quickly you forget! It was under the LEBER-WATSON administration that a convicted felon WALKED out of jail in OHIO because the required paperwork hadn't been done by the DA's office!!

Anonymous said...

When an incumbant candidate (DA Fink)gets less votes in an election than a newcomer challenger (Attorney Watson) the incumbat should read the hand writing on the wall and get on their merry way. Not Dawn Fink, for her the end always justifies the means. Simply put, win at all costs! As we tell our children- it's not whether you win or lose that matters, it's how you play the game. God will sort them out.

Anonymous said...

Honestly, I just can't wait until the VOTE tomorrow and then hopefully some will get on with life. Instead of all this "he said she said" business.
Actually there has been a great lesson pointed out here, remember folks when you point the finger at someone else...four point at you.
Can't wait to see the turnouts at the poll

Ok, I’ve kept my mouth shut long enough. I heard every word of the Potter Leader-Enterprise’s interview of Andy Watson. Based on what was printed, more than one thing he said was taken out of context or misquoted. It is my considered opinion that in spite of comments to the contrary this last minute grandstand was Ms. Fink’s intent all along and is nothing but sour grapes. The nomination by both parties in the primary spoke loudly regarding the confidence voters had in her ability to do the job effectively ALL of the time as opposed to most of the time. Every attempt to compare her to her father and connect the two has been down played, as are her connections to the church she attends and its much noted reputation involvement in the community. On the other hand, every attempt has been made to blame Mr. Watson for every thing that went on during his tenure as ADA, to focus completely on the negative, and ignore his impressive record. Mr. Watson has grown and matured, both as an individual and an attorney, and in that maturity developed a professional style that is most certainly respectful and confident without being pompous or rude. He is ALWAYS prepared for Court, no matter what kind of case he is working on, and does not let his friendships and associations influence the professional decisions he makes. You can rest assured that he is well respected by his clients and his staff alike, and has earned every bit of that respect. Andy Watson IS the best choice for DA, and anyone who can think for themselves and has an ounce of common sense realized that in May when BOTH parties nominated him to be the next Potter County District Attorney.

9:35 your statement is completely ridiculous and shows your intelligence level.

Despite who sets the salary, the fact remains that Andy mislead the voters about it.

I respond: Why don’t you at least try to get your facts straight! In the March 4, 2009 edition of the Enterprise Mr. Watson indicated that he would work at a reduced salary UNTIL the state reimbursed the county as they have been mandated to do all along. The way I understood the article, he never said he was unwilling to be reimbursed by the state, however, he did want to the county to be able to utilize their own funds in the meantime to meet their needs for the betterment of the community rather than pay out monies in salaries that they have no fiscal responsibility to pay. If you found that comment to be deceptive, then perhaps you need to work on your comprehension skills. I know that’s a pretty big word for some of you small minded individuals...but hey, you can always go to the library and have someone help you look it up.

and at 7:01 " By the way, show me one thing that indicates the Enterprise is pro-Fink? I haven't seen anything either way and I read the paper every week unless I am out of town."

What paper are you reading? If you can't see that the Enterprise OBVIOUSLY supports Fink, then you must be reading one of the scandal rags (about the same level of journalism in my opinion). Every article and ad I've seen with regard to Ms. Fink in that paper makes her sound holier-than-thou, and ethically and morally above reproach. I know of a person or two who would beg to differ (and so does Dawn).

You cant hold Andy responsible for something that Jeff Leber didnt do. Andy was the ADA, not the DA.

BUT if we follow your lead, then everything Dawn has accomplished (or messed up) gets credited to her two ADA'S?

It doesnt work that way. Jeff was the boss and succeeded or failed by his management or mis-mangement. Same as Dawn.

Compare apples to apples, and be fair.

BTW - the dawn has also missed filing the proper paperwok during her term....it just didnt get published by her friend Kim.

Dawn Fink is unprofessional in court and does not care whose rights she violates to get her conviction rate up. I heard she was laughing in a serious criminal case, but only when she thought she was winning. I also heard that she consistantly justifies the end conviction, and does not care about constitutional rights that she violates along the way. Also, it is very true that Dawn Fink and our Leader Enterprise court reporter are intertwined--they might as well kiss each other's butts. Go Andy!!!!

Trustworthy friends tell us that Leader reporter Kim Hoak runs around the courthouse like she's more of a part of the system than the newspaper. They called it "cozy" for her, as she comfortably manuvers from office to office doing whatever reporters do. We could tell you what that is but it probably wouldn't get printed. Imagine what that is for yourself.

The LONG 8:37 blogger MUST have been Andy's mom! Say what you will but I have spoken with countless people about the DA and the judge candidates. Quite a few of them have seen all of the lawyers in action at one time or another. Judge Leete says NOTHING but what a good job Dawn has done. Jurors have been impressed with her trial work across the board. NOTHING about her being unprepared. I've also spoken with tipstaff who are preent for her trials. Same thing. They also say Andy was prepared but he has a bad temper and was rude and unprofessional. I had to go to "court day" one Wednesday and saw Dawn as organized, prepared and polite.

That's pretty presumptuous. Nope, I'm not Mr. Watson's mom, although I'd rather be his than Dawn's (she must be SO proud). Do you believe everything you hear or do you check things out for yourself? Obviously, people are going to tell you what they want you to think (especially , but I've actually seen her in Court (as have many who are not permitted due to the nature of their jobs to speak out) and at the debate prior to the May primary...prepared? I think not.

By the way, should we just ASSUME you had to go to "Court Day" because you were arrested by one of the "bad apples" and Dawn was nice to you? Same concept.....

If this latest "write-in" for Dawn frenzy was truly orchestrated by Dawn, don't you think she would have started at least a month ago? And if she pulls the strings at the paper, don't you think she would have had them print their story at least a month ago? A write-in is hard enough to pull off WITH TIME TO CAMPAIGN BEFORE THE ELECTION! It's nearly impossible to do this close. If Dawn was going to do anything official, she would have done it weeks-or months-ago. From what I understand PEOPLE ARE CALLING HER and asking if they can write her in! Is she supposed to say-"No,vote for Andy?" It's a free country! Dawn is not soliciting votes, so how can it be sourt grapes?

WE DON'T NEED DAWN FINK IN THE DA'S
OFFICE AGAIN. GOD HELP US ALL!!!!!!

GO DAWN! WE'RE WRITING YOU IN!

There are always 2 sides to every story!
The part in the article about different ones being contacted ie. DA Association, MADD etc. exactlly when did that happen. as I understand it that happened approx. 8 to 9 months ago. So, WHY is it this is coming out in the paper now, just before the election?

To poster at 1:31. No, I think the last minute crap is so the police and others don't have time to dispute or tell their side. So that people that have seen her unprofessionalism don't have time to bring it all to light, etc before the election. It's been well orchastrated and probably planned in advance. After all, the Andy/salary issue started it and this is just the end of it before the election.

GO ANDY! YOU HAD MY VOTE AND WILL ON NOVEMBER 3RD AS WELL!!

Go Dawn, I will be writting you in tomorrow!

If the dawn is so prepared for trials why has she lost so many trials? Go re-read the debate last spring. The dawn's conviction rate is lower than the Leber-Watson conviction rate. Where Leber-Watson worked part time and the dawn works full time.

Numbers dont lie.

The answer is a resounding NO! The timing is perfect for the type of tactic being employed....dirty pool is dirty pool no matter how you sugar coat it. Ms. Fink stated after the primary that she would not run a write-in campaign, and she could have gracefully declined knowing that the voters have made their choice clear. This is, simply stated, a classless act.
