PA Cuts Back Heating Assistance Help

The state won't start the crisis grant program that helps families in emergency situations heat their homes until January, two months later than last year.

The state also is returning to lower income eligibility guidelines, meaning fewer people will qualify for the assistance.

The Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program’s cash grants will be available start Nov. 2, if the federal budget includes a $275 million appropriation for Pennsylvania. But the start of the crisis grant program will be pushed back from the beginning of November to Jan. 4.

Wow, I wonder if this means less people will qualify for CAP through GPU?

I sure hope they help all those on Sociial Security regardless!
