Pittsburgh Area Woman Who fled To Potter County After Killing, Sentenced To Life

Emsworth woman sentenced to life for killing sleeping husband

An Emsworth woman was sentenced to life in prison without parole today for fatally shooting her husband while he slept in 2006.

Barbra Ann Peck, 43, was convicted by a jury of first-degree murder in August for firing three shots from a .357 Magnum at her husband Russell Peck, 42, while he was asleep in bed on Sept. 15, 2006. She had told police she got the handgun and cocked it before she and her husband went to bed, which showed the jurors there was premeditation.

She discarded the gun when she fled the house and police never recovered it. More...

Peck fled to Potter County in 2006, after the killing, and was arrested here after an overdose.

This judge should have sentenced her to death...unbelievable sentence!

I think the death penalty is extremely rare in cases like this. She will spend the rest of her life in prison, why is that unbelievable?

Do you even know why she killed her husband?

an eye for an eye...no excuses...ss murderers rot in hell

Yep, we'll just keep her in prison for life so our tax dollars can feed and take care of the dumb b**ch.

It don't really matter why she killed him now. She did it , he's dead and now we have to pay for it. It almost makes you feel like you are the criminal.

Guess she fled because it was justifiable homicide.

Google the price of a death and you will see it is equal to the price of 50 yrs in prison.

Locking up murderers is hardly the biggest waste of tax dollars I can think of.
