Port Allegany Couple Killed/Eldred Woman Sustains Major Injuries In Route 155 Head-On Crash

2 Killed, 1 Airlifted
Two Port Allegany residents were killed and an Eldred woman sustained major injuries in a head-on crash on Route 155 near the Daily Bread Restaurant about 3:45 pm on Saturday afternoon.

David N. Bayline, 42, and his passenger Theresa K. Bayline, 48, of Port Allegany, PA, were killed on impact and pronounced dead at the scene.

Helen I. Bigley, 58, Eldred, PA, was flown to Altoona Regional Hospital by Stat Medivac for treatment of major injuries.

David Bayline was driving a 2003 Jeep Cherokee south on Route 155 and as he negotiated a slight right curve in the roadway, he crossed over the yellow center line for unknown reasons, and into the northbound lane of travel, where his Jeep impacted head-on with a 2009 Ford F-150 driven by Helen I. Bigley.

Kane State Police were assisted at the scene by Port Allegany Ambulance, Priority Care Ambulance, Port Allegany Star Hose Company, Port Allegany Borough Police Department, PennDot, and Coroner Bob Hartle.
Both vehicles were removed from the scene by McKeirnan
Towing Service.

dave was the definition of nice. He will always be remembered by the smile that never left his face. He used to come into the pharmacy where I used to work and from the time he was there until the time he left not only would he always be smiling, but he would be causing everyone else to do the same. its so heartbreaking to see this tragedy happen to such great people. I guess the saying is true; life really is to short.

I don't know the Baylines but will be praying for comfort. Ida ( Helen ) Bigley has been one of my moms best friends for at least 40 years. I grew up with her children. This family is like family to us. I am at a loss for words to convey how I feel but know that God is the source of comfort. May we all ask for His comfort in the coming days.

I love you mom and david..My mom was a grat mother, she always went out of her way to show she cared and loves me and my sister. David made my mom happy, and it kills me to have to let go, since I really dont want too. But i guess we have no choice. They were happy and inlove, if anything, im glad they didnt have to suffer, and that they died together. inlove and happy. I love them both so much.

I had the pleasure of knowing Theresa since she moved to Austin with her father. Theresa was a very good friend in which we shared many good times together. She finally found the love of her life and was very happy. I know how much she loved her children, her dad and her new family. I very rarely saw Theresa without a smile on her face and so willing to help whoever she could. Theresa and David will be missed. May they both Rest In Peace.

My heart goes out to the Bayline's and to Theresa's family. They are kept close in our thoughts and prayers. Dave was one of the most altruistic people I know. HE was the kind of friend that even though time and space came between us for years... with in a matter of minutes we were caught up to date and the world was right again...Rest In Peace my friend.

This message is written by Maria Slevenski-Rodgers, Terry was a wonderful cousin and person! My heart breaks for both familes. You all are in my prayers. Just remember she had a fairy book wedding and two wonderful children who she loved with all her heart. She also had her knight in shining armor as they went to heaven. Terry and David may you rest in peace with God.

My thoughts are with all 3 families. I am sure this will be very rough for Helen as being the other driver. Hope she will be okay.

I'm very good friends with the Bigleys and I know this is a very hard time for them. The Baylines are also pretty close to my family. As for Theresa's family, I don't know you but your family, along with the Bigleys and the Baylines, will be in my prayers and thoughts! I pray that Helen can recover! This is a very sad loss, it's not fair. RIP David & Theresa! Peace be with you now that you're above us with God!

I went to school with Ida (Helen) and know Pete as well. I watched their kids grow up and life happen to their family. There are no words that will describe the feelings I have. I cling to the knowledge that no matter how dark life gets, God is in control. Know that you are all in prayer. I don't know the other families, but my heart felt sympathy goes out to you all.
