• BIDS FOR 21ST CENTURY GRANT SITE COORDINATOR ASSISTANT

• PURCHASE OF SNOW PLOW FOR MAINTENANCE

• APPOINTMENTS TO SOLID WASTE AUTHORITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE

• RECOGNITION – Mitchell Lyall, Boy Scout Troop 530, Ulysses, has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS

• ADDENDUM TO UNION CONTRACT – Between Potter County and SEIU Local 668/PA Social Services Union to extend the terms of the addendum approved on August 14, 2009 for pay adjustments due to the state budget delay. The terms will be effective October 5, 2009 until PCHS receives its allocation funds from the Commonwealth.

• CONTRACT – Between Potter County and Seneca Highlands IU9 for rental of 2 classrooms for the partial hospitalization program at an annual cost of $7,500.00, effective August 19, 2009 through August 23, 2010.

• CONTRACT - Between Potter County and Seneca Highlands IU9 for rental of 1 classroom for the Alternative Education and Disruptive Youth Program at an annual cost of $3,300.00, effective August 19, 2009 through August 23, 2010.

• LEASE AGREEMENT – Between Potter County and Barbara Burdick for the lease of one cubicle near the Register and Recorder’s office at a monthly rate of $200.00 effective October 2, 2009.

• GRANT AGREEMENT – Between Potter County and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) for grant funding from the Hazardous Material Response Fund (HMRF) in the amount of $7,963.00.

TRAINING REQUESTS

• Colleen Wilbur (PCHS) – PACDAA Quarterly, October 28-29, 2009, State College, Pa. Request for meals, mileage, lodging ($122.61) and registration fee ($110.00) expenses.

Purpose: Required for membership and BDAP training on the new 5-year contract.

• Nancy Hurt (DRO) – Fall Director’s Conference, State College, Pa. Request for meals, mileage and lodging ($126.94) expenses. There is no registration fee.

Purpose: Update conference for DRS Directors providing current information on legal and administrative issues.

• Sherry Hoffman (PCHS) – P4A/PDA Quarterly Meeting, October 27 – 29, 2009, Grantville, Pa. Request for meals, mileage, lodging ($188.68) and registration fee ($50.00) expenses.

Purpose: To receive important updates and information

• Glenn Dunn (DES) – ICS/EOC Interface Course, November 12, 2009, Harrisburg, Pa. Request for meals, mileage and lodging ($83.25) fee expenses.

Purpose: Required training for certification

Purpose: Required training for certification

• Christy Steiner (Victim Witness) – Pathways, November 18-20, 2009, Pittsburgh, PA. Request for meals, mileage, lodging ($406.98) and registration fee ($50.00) expenses.

Purpose: Annual training – required for training hours

PERSONNEL ACTIONS

• HIRING – Sheriff Ken Sauley recommends the hiring of Thomas K. Rathmell as Part-Time Jail Cook, Class 1 at an hourly rate of $8.20 per the union contract, effective October 12, 2009.

• RETIREMENT – Caroline Easton has submitted notification of her retirement from her position of Full-Time Secretary/Clerk II, Class III at District Judge Annette Easton’s Office. Ms. Easton has served the county since April 1970.

• Applications for County Liquid Fuels Tax Funds for county aid as follows:
o Ulysses Township - $4,361.27
o Pleasant Valley Township – $1,305.75
o Hector Township - $6,004.80

Happy Retirement Carolyn!!! You( and Ed) have served well for a long time!It was always a pleasure dealing with the Eastons in the J.P.'s office;even when it did usually cost you money!!:( They(including Annette) always treated you with respect and were always fair!! Thanks Carolyn for the compassion and professionalism you always showed over the years when we made "mistakes"!!Class Act Always!! Brad Jones
