Rendell cabinet member leaves to join natural gas firm

HARRISBURG -- A top member of Gov. Ed Rendell's staff has resigned to go to work for a Texas gas firm that's active in drilling for natural gas in Marcellus shale areas of Pennsylvania.

Scott Roy has left his position as deputy chief of staff and been replaced by Naomi Wyatt, secretary of the Office of Administration, the governor's office announced today.

Mr. Roy will work for Range Resources Inc., Rendell spokesman Gary Tuma said. The company is a Texas firm that is among the leading drilling companies for valuable natural gas contained in underground Marcellus shale.

If I had a job right now for Rendell, I would be leaving also!
He is a disgrace to this state!

This just makes it even less likely that the gas industry in Pennsylvania will ever pay its freight with a severance task like all the other states have.
No, instead we make the poor people and the small businesses and the home owners pay all the taxes while these gas companies continue their free ride. No guts in Harrisburg to stand up to the lobbyists. Even Subway Marty Causer and Just Plain Joe Scarnati caved in and let us down.
