SECOND CHANCES CONCERT

SECOND CHANCES CONCERT

DATE: OCTOBER 18, 2009
TIME: 7:00 P.M.
WHERE: SARTWELL CREEK UNION CHURCH
SARTWELL CREEK ROAD
PORT ALLEGANY, PA 16743

“Second Chances” is a contemporary Christian vocal ensemble from the Coudersport area which was organized in 2007. Our name is derived from
the vocal composition “The God of Second Chances” by David Haas, which
was composed for all who long to start over, to begin again. It became very evident early in our formation, that there was not only a desire to perform inspirational music to reach out to people, but also that this group has a tremendous potential to excel musically.

The strength of “Second Chances”
is its choral dynamic; a well blended vocal tone, rich sonorous timbre, a high degree of pitch and rhythmic accuracy, and expressive musicianship.

It is
our hope to bring to light the message of their songs in a very meaningful
way. The song repertoire includes a variety of styles including Gospel, spiritual, lyrical ballade, and contemporary Christian, performing in both an accompanied and a cappella setting.

Members of the organization include sopranos Anne Acker, Carol Empson, and Gretchen Songster, altos, Jean-Marie Kauffman, Lucinda Weakland,
and Valery Robbins, tenors Ted Bear, Brian Bradley and Charlie Cole, and basses Bob Johnson, Tom Lamb and Stephen Sevinsky. The piano
accompanist is Anne McCleary and the director is Gloria Richardson.
