Wild Boars in Allegany State Park

WESB News:Wild Boars in Allegany State Park

Wild boars have been sited in Allegany State Park. Three have been spotted together five of the last six days in various parts of the southeastern quadrant along the Pennsylvania border in Allegany State Park.

Park Manager Brad Whitcomb says the wild pigs compete with native wildlife for food, damage the ecosystem and reproduce quickly. Whitcomb sasy the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation considers the boars an invasive species.

The U. S. Department of Agriculture is also getting involved with officials expected at the park today.

Why haven't they shot them yet? I would shoot all the I can see!

They will have to trap them and carefully move them to a shelter where they will be cared for by a bunny hugger for fear that a tree hugger will write a crazy poem about the pigs demise.
