Do any of these take a paycheck from the AVFD ?

the V stands for VOLUNTEER.

I was told by many people that are no longer (volunteer) members that the treasurer position gets paid ?

Kudos to those who volunteer their time and effort to serve their communities, sometimes even putting their own lives on the line....you can't be thanked enough..

So what if some get paid? They may save your life someday, if your lucky.

I thought they were looking for change. There is no change. You better not comme holding your hands out for more money when you go past the hall on cold nights and see the doors hanging open.

Just pray, that on that cold night that the doors are hanging open that they haven't rushed to your home to put the fire out & rescue your family !

6:40(So what if some get paid?)Thats why membership is down !and why the hell would anyone donate money when it just is put in someones pocket? What a bunch of bullshit !!Then again it's Austin !

change is good when it's for the best but to put people in there who don't have a clue how to run their household let alone run a business such as a fire company would just be ridiculous. kudos to those men & women who have been involved in the department for 20 or more years and continue to help even when they get beat down by the newbies or wannabees. these "oldies" sure know how to get the monies to buy new vehicles and equipment. hope i never see you at my house but sure am glad to know you're there if i need you.

The monies to buy new equipment....mmmm...oh yea loans.

You got to be kidding me a simple post about the people who were elected to positions for the fire company and it turns into a bash fest. You all need to get a life. And who cares if someone is a "newbie" or an "oldie" each person makes a contribution whether they have been there for 20 years or 20 days. I for one am so sick and tired that every time there is post on here that the fire departments get bashed. You all can sit on here and run at the mouth, but when all hell breaks loose who do you expect to come running to you to give you help? THE FIRE DEPARTMENTS!!! Stop bashing these folks and get a life.

Volunteers are always accepted.. Again, if you feel you could do a better more effective job, then step right up. Cowards !

Anonymous said...

Oh this is a bunch of "Bash It" don't ya think?

Anonymous said...

Volunteer is the key word why would some get paid? It seems nothing is safe from greed.Shame on them!

Peg, Kathy, Sheryl and Colleen--we love you for keeping it together. Thank you to Mike and Joe for their contribution to. Great bunch of folks to work with. Thank you to all who are part of AVFD in one way or another. Those who aren't are welcome to join.
