Dr. Stanley Teaches

Interceding for Our Land
Interceding for Our Land
Few Christians would deny the moral decline of our country. But we need to do more than point fingers. Believers have a vital responsibility to pray for the future of this great nation. Read Dr. Stanley's teaching about how we can "Intercede for Our Land."

Dr Stanley's teachings appear to be based upon the false assumption that our nation was founded as a Christian nation.

This is completely false. We are a nation of predominately Christian citizens who's government was formed as a secular institution that would neither favor nor discourage ANY faith or denomination.

There's a huge difference here and to accept the latter is to reject the American model of governance, a democratically elected representative Republic.

If there were any faith model this country was founded on, it would be the Masonic model. The Mason's, ironically enough, were ALSO prosecuted and persecuted by multiple Christian denominations throughout their history.

Read you're history, it will serve you well.

We are not now, and never were, a Christian nation.

However, we ARE a nation that is predominately populated by Christians. Understand the difference.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day; teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime; give a man religion and he will die praying for a fish.

Actually, I think that you twisted the end of that just a bit 4:50. Give a man religion and he will remember to thank God for learning how to fish so he could eat for a lifetime!

The comment made by 4:50 is pointless. What is the fear in other's faith in Christ/God/ Religon that inspires you to leave a "jab?" You either believe or you don't, if you don't, move along....

The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.

What's not to believe?

Allow those cosmic powers to guide into your realm of a fantasy world, to each his own! The humor is in the fact that an obvious atheist would feel the need to “twist” the belief of Christians, and the BIBLE.

Here is what you do……Write an article to Solomon’s Word professing your distain for the word of God. My hope that those that share your point of view can compare notes and blog away. Likewise, maintain control as a mature adult and simply pass by those articles that compel you to roll your eyes and come up with better ways to deny Christ.

To each his own. It really is that simple!

it would be funny, if the subject matter being made fun of were not actively working to inject such beliefs directly into the lives and government of the millions and millions who do not see the world their way.

The first poster had it right, America was never, ever a Christian nation. Yet Dr Stanley teaches as if it were all along. And millions believe this particular fairy tale as well.

No, I agree with 3:14's sarcasm, my only disappointment is that he was unable to time that posting for 3:16.

@8:40 (1st poster):

"Read you're history, it will serve you well."

You assume that anyone nowadays actually reads anything. Maybe if the text books were rewritten into texting speak , kids today may actually learn something:

"We d ppl of d United st8z, n ordA 2 4m a mor perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide 4t comN defence, promote d general Welfare, n secure d Blessings of Liberty 2 ourselves n r Posterity, do ordain n establish dis Constitution 4t United st8z of USA."

The word of god? There and thousands of different religions and bibles that claim to be the word of god, and they all say different things.

At best one of them is the word of god and the rest are words of men.

How are we to tell the difference?

The Roman Emperor Augustus was also regularly called 'the son of god' and was thought to have various healing and other miraculous powers. Oh, and of course he was the result of divine conception.

Augustus is my god, but yours is cool too.
