Keith E. Wheaton, 77, of Ulysses, PA

Keith E. WHEATON, 77, of Ulysses, PA, died Friday, November 20, 2009 in his home.

Born March 15, 1932, in Westfield, PA, he was the son of Harold K. and Edith Bailey Wheaton. On September 4, 1954, in Harrison Valley, PA, he married the former Evelyn D. Wynick, who survives.

A 1950 graduate of Westfield High School, he served honorably with the US Air Force from 1950 -- 1954.

He was employed by the Eberle Tannery in Westfield for 29 years. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Westfield. Keith was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving besides his wife, Evelyn, are: two sons, Larry E. Wheaton of Westfield and Jeffrey K. Wheaton of Clinton, IL; a daughter, Gwendelenetta S. Wheaton of Ulysses; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond M. Wheaton of Shinglehouse, PA; a sister, Kay M. Mertsock of Shinglehouse; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Jon R. Wheaton and Michael J. Wheaton; and a brother, Kenneth H. Wheaton.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA. Fr. John Kita will preside. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
