Robert F. Hurd, 75, of Westfield, PA

Robert F. Hurd, 75, of Westfield, PA, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009.

Born December 18, 1933, in Gurnee, PA, he was the son of Herman and Anna Torrence Hurd. On November 9, 1957, in Galeton, PA, he married the former Beverly Jean Colby, who predeceased him on August 24, 1990. On June 18, 1992, in Potter Brook, PA, he married the former Patricia Palmatier Hunt, who survives.

He was employed by the former Eberle Tannery in Westfield for 46 years. He was a member of the Potter Brook People's Church, where he had served as a deacon and trustee for many years.

Surviving besides his wife, Patricia, are: two sons, Donald Hurd and Stephen Hurd, both of Wellsboro, PA; two daughters, Robin (Kelvin) Hess and Tamara (Michael) Abbott, both of Westfield; 30 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six step-sons, Duane (Mary) Hunt of Wall, NJ, Bradley (Peggy) Hunt of Gettysburg, PA, Brian (Carole) Hunt of San Francisco, CA, Rev. Darrin G. (Christine) Hunt of Selinsgrove, PA, Rusty Hunt and Roy (Pamela) Hunt, both of Ulysses, PA; a brother, Arnold Hurd of Galeton; a sister, Elsie (Henry) Orlowski of Coudersport, PA; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, he was predeceased by a son, Jon, in 1977; seven brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at the Potter Brook People's Church on Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 10:00 AM -- 12:00 Noon, with Funeral Services following at 12:00 Noon. The Rev. David L. Aungst and the Rev. Darrin G. Hunt will co-officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Potter Brook, PA.

Memorials may be made to the Potter Brook People's Church Building Fund, c/o Dianne Olney, Treas., Potter Brook Road, Westfield, PA 16950.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA.
