Bradford & Lewis Run Residents Collide On Cemetery Hill

4 Minor Injuries In Kane Crash
A Lewis Run woman and a Bradford woman collided Tuesday afternoon at 4:50 pm on slippery Cemetery Hill on Route 66 south of Kane Boro in Wetmore Township.

The crash occurred as Leslie L. Scully, 54, of Lewis Run, PA, was driving a 2002 Dodge Intrepid north on Route 66.

Michelle M. Whittemore, 42, of Bradford, PA, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Impala south on Rt. 66.

As Scully was negotiating a right curve, her Dodge struck an icy patch on the roadway and began to slide. She was unable to control the slide and her Dodge slid north sideways across both lanes where it was struck by Whittemore's Chevy in the southbound lane.

The Dodge then spun counter-clockwise and came to rest mostly in the southbound lane. The Chevrolet traveled into a snowbank along the west berm where it came to rest.

Whittemore and Scully both received minor injuries as did 6 & 12 year old male juveniles in the Whittemore Chevrolet. All four were transported by Emergy Care Ambulance to Kane Community Hospital for treatment. Everyone was wearing safety belts.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Kane Police Department, Kane Fire Department, Fire Police and PennDot. Neither driver was charged according to the news release.
