Rated In Top 1 Percent
Charles Cole Memorial Hospital received its most recent inpatient satisfaction report in which the hospital’s obstetrics unit earned top scores.

According to the survey results, the obstetrics unit was ranked in the top 1 percent against 48 other Pennsylvania hospitals and ranked in the top 3 percent in the country.

Responses that received the highest scores included speed and courtesy of person admitting/discharging, friendliness and courtesy of nurses, prompt response to call, attention to special/personal needs, nurses kept patients informed, skill and courtesy of physician and nurses, staff worked together to care for patients, room temperature and noise, and courtesy of laboratory staff.

“We are very proud of these scores,” said Dr. Celso Backes, chief of OB/GYN at CCMH. “Our entire staff works very hard to continuously give their best to our patients to make them feel safe and comfortable throughout their entire stay at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. It’s wonderful to have our patients recognize that dedication to excellence.”

Additionally, the hospital’s overall inpatient report ranked CCMH in the top 12 percent nationally. CCMH scored well in areas such as courtesy of nursing and laboratory staff, prompt response to call, skill of nurses, nurses checked ID, wait time for tests/treatment, and accommodations and comfort for visitors.

“These improving scores are a demonstration of our continued commitment to provide patient centered care,” said Cindi Hardesty, vice president and chief nurse executive. “Our staff is dedicated to making a positive difference for each patient and family that we touch.”
