Chester R. "Pops" Hartman, 76, of Crosby, PA

Chester R. "Pops" Hartman, 76, of Crosby, passed away Thursday, December 24th, 2009 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born December 25, 1932, in Hunlock Creek, PA, he was a son of the late Mason and Lydia (Roushey) Hartman.

Mr. Hartman was formerly married to Loretta (Boysh) Hartmam who survives.

He enlisted in the United States Army on January 15, 1953 during the Korean War and was honorably discharged January 14, 1955.

He had been employed by Mosler Safe Company in Franklinville, NY, from 1972 until his retirement in 1992. After retirement he drove for a Limousine service in Olean and later worked as a clerk for the Uni Marts Stores.

He was a member of the American Legion in Smethport.

Surviving is a daughter, Susan J. Kilpatrick of Bradford, three brothers, William Hartman of Hunlock Creek; Donald Hartman of Virginia, and Thomas Hartman of Texas, 3 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Clinton Hartman.

At the request of the family there will be no public visitation, private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Hunlock Creek Cemetery.
