E. Burley Pease, 69, of Duke Center, PA, formerly of Syracuse, NY, Mills, PA, and Westfield, PA, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in the Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, PA.

Born November 4, 1940, in Blossburg, PA, he was the son of Robert S. and Marcia F. Swetland Pease. A US Navy Veteran, he served honorably from August 1958 -- August 1961.

He was employed by International Harvester Co. Truck Division in Syracuse, NY, Halsey Machinery Co. in Mexico, NY, John Deere Construction Division in Syracuse as a territory manager, and the PA Game Commission as a deputy wildlife conservation officer.

Surviving are: companion, S. Jean Little of Duke Center; his mother, Marcia Merritt of Ulysses, PA; two sons, Theodore B. Pease and Kevin M. Pease, both of Syracuse; a daughter, Pamela Ann DeForest of Chittenango, NY; five grandchildren; and an aunt, Audrey Butler of Wellsville, NY. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a sister, Etta J. Beckhorn; and his step-father, Stanley Merritt.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 2, 2010 in the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The Rev. Paul M. Karges will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ulysses Library, P.O. Box 316, Ulysses, PA 16948.
