Frank L. Siffrinn, 96, formerly of Limestone, and 301 Seaward Avenue, Bradford, PA

Frank L. Siffrinn, 96, formerly of Limestone, and 301 Seaward Avenue, Bradford, passed away, Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 at Strabane Woods Assisted Living in Washington, PA.

Born May 16, 1913, in Fredonia KS, he was a son of the late Peter L. and Alice (Burgess) Siffrinn.

Mr. Siffrinn attended Olean Schools.

On July 17, 1935 in Eldred, he married Phyllis A. (Hyatt) Siffrinn who died on July 4, 1994.

He enlisted in the United States Army on August 19, 1943 and was honorably discharged on February 19, 1945.

He had been employed by the Bradford Area School District as Superintendent of Transportation for 27 years, retiring in February of 1974.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, and attended St. Francis Church in Bradford. He was a former member of the American Legion, the VFW, and Bradford Moose Lodge.

Surviving is one son, Frank R. (Nancy) Siffrinn of Canonsburg, three grandchildren: Matthew R. Siffrinn, Michael W. Siffrinn and Katie M. Siffrinn, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers, John Siffrinn, Eugene Siffrinn, Peter Siffrinn and Charles Siffrinn and three sisters, Helen VanHoutte, Louise Kent and Margaret DeBucce.

Family will be recieving friends on Friday, December 4, 2009 from 3-5 & 7-9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St. where a prayer service will be held on Saturday at 9:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Bernard Church with Rev. Leo Gallina, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Crohn's & Colitis Association of Southwestern PA, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 401, Pittsburgh PA 15235.

A Christian Wake Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday in the funeral home.
