Hiroko K. Guilds, 80, of Ulysses, PA

Hiroko K. Guilds, 80, of Ulysses, PA, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in Bonnie Hurler's Personal Care Home, Westfield, PA, where she had resided for the last three years.  

Born November 24, 1929, in Kure, Japan, she was the daughter of Shusuke and Asako Sinya Kurata.  On September 8, 1973, in Ulysses, she married Max Guilds, who predeceased her on November 27, 2004.  

A 1947 graduate of Kure High School, she was employed by Galeton Production for 29 years, retiring in 1984.  She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Brookland, PA, the ECW, and the Order of the Eastern Star Cowanesque Chapter #33 in Westfield, where she was a 50 year member and a past worthy matron.  

Surviving are:  a sister-in-law, Maude (Larry) Dunning of Corning, NY;  nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends, including Maude Reed at Hurler's Care Home.  

Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Friday, January 1, 2010 from 1:00 -- 2:00 PM, with an Eastern Star service following at 2:00 PM.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 2, 2010 in the All Saints Episcopal Church, Brookland.  The Rev. Elaine Silverstrim will officiate.  Burial will be in Ackley Cemetery, Sabinsville, PA.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, c/o Joan Sampson, Ulysses, PA 16948.

Cheebie was a very sweet lady and will be missed by that knew her.
