Judge Minor, D. A. Watson To Take Office On Monday

minormugshotA brief — but historically significant — ceremony will take place at noon on Monday, Jan. 4, in the courtroom of the Potter County Courthouse. Attorney Steve Minor will place one hand on the Holy Bible and take the oath of office to become President Judge of the Court of Common Pleas for a 10-year term that expires at the end of 2019. He was elected in November to succeed John Leete, who is retiring after more than two decades on the bench.

Judge Leete will continue to serve as a senior judge, subject to assignment by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to cases across the commonwealth. Judge-elect Minor is the son of the Rev. David and Lorraine Minor. He and his wife, the former Marie Parnell, have three sons and a daughter and they reside in Coudersport.

apr18watsonmughalfcolAlso during Monday’s ceremony, being hosted by the Potter County Bar Association, Coudersport attorney Andy Watson will be sworn-in as Potter County District Attorney for a four-year term that expires at the end of 2013. He was also elected in November by voters countywide and succeeds Dawn Fink, who has held the position for the past four years. Watson previously served as the county’s assistant district attorney.

Monday’s ceremony will also include installation of Potter County Jury Commissioners Dean Dow and Norma Cobb Nichols and County Coroner Kevin Dusenbury, all of whom were re-elected to a four-year term that begins in January, and deputy row offices for certain county elected officials’ offices.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to last for just a few minutes and is open to the public. Potter County Today

Anonymous said... was not so long ago that I read on this very same site people complaining that they felt that Watson lied his way into his seat and they would not have voted for him if he had not made that "offer" of taking a pay cut, which was NOT a legal offer to begin with and anyone who has seen him in th court room knows that he crosses his "T"s and dots his "I"s, yet he did not know???!!! Now people are happy that he is starting...which is it, is he a liar or not?
As for Minor, he has a great reputation for juvenile justice, I hope he does well.

I'm sorry to hear that Andy lied, did not hear that, I did not vote for Andy to begin with..Dawn Fink would have been my vote if I lived in Potter County!

Keep those tabby doors open! I can see where the congregation will be twofold once these two jokers get started. As for people being liars - don't you know - that just happens to be the norm in good old God's County these days. Hmmmmmmm....

It is not just in Potter County, you will find liars in every county!
