Route 6 Was Closed Temporarily Early Wednesday Morning In Roulette

Trucks Crash In Roulette
Route 6 was closed briefly in both directions shortly after 5:00 am on Wednesday morning as a result of an accident between a tractor trailer and a log truck. It was reported that the tractor trailer ended up completely blocking the roadway.

Roulette fire fighters responded non-emergency to the crash which was located at the intersection of Buckler Drive and Route 6. They rerouted traffic around the scene by way of Main Street and Fishing Creek Extension.

There were apparently no injuries and it was reported that fire personnel and people from Buckler Trucking were able to move the big rig off the highway to allow Route 6 to reopen, after getting permission from State Police, who were en route to the scene.

Well if Rt 6 in the Roulette area was anything like Rt 49 in the Ulysess area its no wonder there was a crash. Funny how as soon as you get to the headwaters area where the district changes from the Ulysses crew to the Coudy crew that all of a sudden the road is so much better. I find that interesting considering that they should all be doing the same thing. Course perhaps the Ulysses crew doesn't get the same budget as the Coudy crew to be able to put down enough material when they need to. Something wrong with this picture.

ever notice the weather difference between risser hill to ullyses? whole different world

not only that, but if you ask me, i'd prefer they didn't put "material" down.

i have no problem driving on snow, but they put down cinders and all of a sudden it's slip n slide time lol

You know the crew cannot be every where at once and no the the stockpiles all have the same budget and they can only put down so much material to the roads no matter where in Potter County they are at. I happen to know that the crews were out all night because the night crew worked until midnight and day crew were called in for midnight to noon.

now that we know you people was up what did they do ,,you would think that the main road would of been taken care of first

are you supposed to just drive up and down the main road making sure it is plowed while ignoring the side roads? They plow and put stuff down but untill the weather improves they cant keep the roads totaly clear. If they only focused on the main roads you would complain about the side roads!
I saw plenty of trucks out working on the main and side roads this morning.

Rte 155 from Port to Emporium was a mess at 7:30a.
wtf PennDOT?

Funny NYS roads are all ways so much better than PA roads...why?

Anonymous said...

I realize they can't be everywhere at once & I realize they only have so many people but........seems like they always wait until there is an accident reported until they send crews out (Denton Hill and Greenman Hill for instance) EVERY YEAR this happens!

Folks, The good governor Fast Eddie has Penn DOT "skinnied" down so much they cannot even stock pile common truck parts. So, if a truck breaks down, the part has to be ordered from the 'approved' provider and that truck is out of commission for at least a few days. Don't blame the guys that are out there on 12 hour shifts doing the best they can - talk to Penn DOT mgmt (at the state level) and Fast Eddie

Another Great Day in God's County, lol All The Way

The reason NY roads are always better than Pa roads is that NY puts straight salt on the roads there. You can see the results on their car bodies---rust! Anyway, PennDOT won't pay for that much salt and our guys are probably over the limit they are allowed to use for the year already. That's how the idiots in Harrisburg operate. You can bet they get a lot more salt down there than we do up here for their 4 inches of snow a year!

it was fun out

if you have to complane about the weather you dont deserve to live in potter county. move to florida or southern pa. please

"'approved' provider"...And for the rest of the story...For those of you that do not know it, the approved provider is in Fast Eddies back pocket because of all the cash they put there to begin with! Approved parts from the mentioned approved provider are so over priced it is not even funny! Kinda' like having to buy a 100.00 hammer and or pad lock with our tax dollars when one of the exact same things could be purchased else where for 1/4 of that price!

It never ever ends, they have such a big circle jerk in Harrisburg it would make one sick if you could be aware of all that goes on behind the curtain...

And by the way, one of my adult children lives in NYS and has for the past 4 years, their car is not rusted out from the road salt because they know enough to rinse it off all winter long...

And I forgot to thank our Penn Dot workers for their hard work on our roads today, so, Thank You!

I know you do the very best you can with what you have to work with!

I really like the boulders the use on the roads. So much fun hearing them hit my car!

Wait until next year after they’ve lain off a good number of our Penn Dot workers and contract the work out. Cost saving it will be called and better service to you complainers.

On Rt. 49 these trucks fly by, especially log trucks. Why is everyone blaming the road crew. Maybe they ought to slow down.
