Virginia A Burton, 88, of the Emery Towers, formerly of 79 West Corydon St. Bradford, passed away Monday, December 7th, 2009 at the Bradford Manor.

Born October 3, 1921, in Soldier, PA, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Tracy (Alesso) Alessi. She attended schools in Soldier and DuBois.

On August 8, 1958 in Tokoma, Washington she married Roland Burton who died on December 9, 1992.

She was formerly employed at The Bradford Era, retiring in June of 1992.

She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church.

Surviving is one niece Patricia Hart, and one nephew Grant Orris. She was preceded in death by three sisters Gertrude Gill, Josephine Spatz, and Marge Orris, five brothers: Leonard, Thomas, Charles, Joseph, and Samuel Alessi.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday December 10, 2009 from 3-5 & 7-9 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. South Ave., and again on Friday in the Grace Lutheran Church from 10:00am to 11:00am at which time funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. John Schubert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
