Wendy Wonders Who's Doing It??

Wendy Wonders....
I would like to know if any one knows who is running the lines from Genesee to Gold and Ulysses to Gold. I've been wondering if it Zito, Verizon or maybe Time Warner. I would be wonderful if us folks in the Gold area could have a choice of something besides dial up or Satellite Internet.

It is Time Warner (Who don’t ) even have a right away; who are running a line just for Ulysses Boro.
Verizon; which has right a way’s, are at Newfield and will run cable through if there is a petition of people names wanting it.
They are the best, as they know what they are doing and take good care of their systems

Hopefully you have better luck with a petition than we did. Verizon sucks as far as getting DSL ran in an out of town area. They don't care!

My Zito has always been great. Both times we had issues, we called and it was fixed within a couple of days. Have you ever actually CALLED for service or do you just choose to whine and complain as most posters on here?

we switched from Verizon to Zito, and couldn't be happier. we were paying for the high speed DSL, but getting dial up speeds......no thank you, gonna stay with Zito

I've never had a problem with Zito. Their internet is the fastest I've ever experienced and the TV is as reliable as anything else. At least you don't have to brush snow off your satellite dish.

I sure wish Verizon would read this .Wharton is trying to get DSL and we need 31 people. The Map they gave us cuts off areas that are in Wharton where people live and the map shows areas in the woods and mountain area where nobody lives.Before they came out with Fios they should have took care of the people first that don't have DSL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This doesn't apply to the Ulysses/Gold/Genesee areas, but people living in the Sunderlinville area may be interested to know that Verizon DSL has been available since September 2008. I've had it since it came out and it work great.

With DSL you have to be within 18,000 (aprox 3.5 miles) of the central office equipment. There is no such distance limitation with cable.

I find it surprising in a way the ppl that BGC about Zito. Its the same system now that it's always been and run by the same people that it's always been. So you are having issues different now why/how?

Zito crushes Verizon.

First, it is twice the speed and better up time.

Second, if you need to call Zito you actually get to talk to someone that speaks English and you don't wait on hold for an hour just to be transferred to 10 different departments and then told they cannot help you anyway, because again you have the wrong department.

I have had Verizon for two years until last month. They are horrible. Their service is horrible, they over charge you, and it's almost impossible to get any answers from them. Verizon has also been charging people taxes that they are not supposed to.

I filed a complaint with the Attorney General, the FCC, and the Department of Revenue.

That's Verizon internet, don't even get me started on Verizon wireless.

I bought a cell phone, hooked it up with Verizon pre paid after my 1 year contract ran out, and they locked my phone, so when I went to switch to another carrier, my phone wouldn't work. I had to ship out my phone and pay $25 to have it unlocked. I BOUGHT THE PHONE IT IS MINE! Who are they to change the code in my phone???

I had Verizon for a year under a bundled package. The 13th month I got a bill that was $75 higher than usual. When I called and finally got someone that knew what they were talking about, someone that I could understand, they told me my one year contract was up and I was no longer receiving the bundled discount.

Thank you Verizon for rewarding me for paying you on time for a year.

Now, I switched to Zito a month ago, and I couldn't be happier.

Many of between Gold and Ulysses have Verizon DSL. Also, a petition was circulated and turned in over a year ago so many more in the area can get it. I am hopeful that the new lines going in are to connect the rest of ones who want it that live outside of the Boro area. Zito stops in Gold. I love the Verizon DSL. Hope the rest of you can get it.

I told them it was NO Hurry and that it wasn't an emergency. I'm not attached to my computer the way some people are. SO, Dark Ages are FINE with me! The world doesn't end just because my internet is slow!

We live in West Bingham and have Zito Media. I know Verizon comes this way from Ulysses but ends long before West Bingham, so I suspect that Zito continues from here to Genesee. Hope this helps :) (and I have had no trouble with my Zito internet, it's fast and reliable but a little pricey)

Well to burst all you bubbles about Zito, I myself think they Suck. I got my service shut off for roughly around $100 which isnt even a Month overdue with the way they bill you a month and a 1/2. So here was my downfall and the reason I left them. When they sent me the bill of $100 i was waiting until the end of the week to get my paycheck to pay my bill. Ok now I recieved the bill on a Monday, Wednesday came around and my Services were shutoff. Friday I got a letter saying that my services will be interupted in 10 days after recieving the letter. Ok from Monday to Friday is not 10 days for one. Let alone Wednesday to Friday. The biggest issue I had with them is they charged me for another Month and a 1/2 after they terminated my services. This is wrong in their part as I did not recieve any services for that month and a 1/2 afterwords. Oh this doesnt include the fact they brought me a Disfunctioned HD Converter Box that did not work from the day the tech installed it. He could not even get it to work. He said he had put a order in to change my box, yeah well that order stood for 2 months without any change. I called them numerous times in them 2 months to have my box exchanged. They could not do it as for they did not have the equipment. So in the Long run Zito Charged me for a Month and 1/2 over, shut my services off, and gave me garbage equipment without even fixing my bill. My opinion is that Zito-media sucks, and I will never get their service again.

I have the zito media triple play and the tv and internet is great.Although the phone is a work in progress that I have had to call from someone elses house to come have it looked at and fixed numerous times.I also like zito because as long as you keep what you owe them at 100 dollars or less they won't shut you off.And being that I have got laid off recently there have been plenty of months since that I couldn't pay my bill and only paid a partial payment and never have gotten services interuptted.I would like to Thank Zito for this in understanding the tough times some folks are going through now.

to ECO....maybe you should just try paying your bills on time in the future. I've been behind cos I've forgotten to log in and pay and you have to be WAY more than a month and a few days behind to get your service shut off. Sounds like you are whining about the consequences of your lack of timely payments.

So how is that Zito cell service working for you?

I have had Verizon DSL,Phone, and Cell service for over 5 years now because it is the only option in Ulysses and I have NEVER had a problem with Verizon...even with my numerouse upgrades. Also, Directv blows Zitos cable out of the park......

zito really dose seem to do a pretty good job as of late of keeping things up and running. No outages at all come to mind over the last few years. But I can recall several times when they where first getting started having to tell them how to fix it.

Time Warner may be running lines through Ulysses boro, but it is currently my understanding that they are running fiber to support Zito as they do currently from Olean to Coudersport for their Broadcast Services. If Time Warner does end up with that area, you definatley wont ever have to worry about customer service, prompt on time technicians, you can talk with someone right out of the Buffalo Call Center who speack english and you will definatley get plenty of notice of when your bill is due.

If I were Ulysses residents I would be praying for Time Warner!! Cable, Internet & Phone are all three GREAT Services...

GO SATELLITE! TV & Internet!!!! Maybe twice a winter you have to brush off some snow....big deal!!!
