Catherine P. Ayers, 71, of 13 Lincolndale Road, Bradford, PA

Catherine P. Ayers, 71, of 13 Lincolndale Road, Bradford, passed away Saturday, January 9th, 2010 at her residence.

Born October 21, 1938, in Bradford she was a daughter of the late Felix and Eva (Stewart) McLaughlin. She was a 1956 graduate of Bradford High School.

On December 6, 1958 in Bradford she married Hugh Ayers who survives.

She had worked as the park manager at the Foster Township Park.

She was a member of St. Bernard Church.

Surviving is one granddaughter, Christa (Anthont) Ayers-Dominquez of Azuza, CA, three sisters: Gertrude McLaughlin of Grand Junction, CO, Loretta Hill of Coudersport, and Becky McLaughlin of Eldred, two brothers: Patrick McLaughlin of Bradford, and William McLaughlin of Marina, CA, her step mother: Helen McLaughlin and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Douglas Ayers who died in July of 1984, three brothers: Theodore, Fred, and Aaron McLaughlin, two sisters: Clista Haskins, and Judith Howard.

Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 from 3 to 5pm & 7 to 9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. South Ave., where a prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 11:000am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am in St. Bernard Church with Rev. Leo Gallina, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to Visiting Nurses Association, 20 School St, Bradford, St. Bernard Church, or charity of the donor's choice.
