Gerald C. "Jerry" Stack, 80, of 95 Latchaw Hollow, Bradford, PA

Gerald C. "Jerry" Stack, 80, of 95 Latchaw Hollow, Bradford, passed away Tuesday, January 19th, 2010 at his residence.

Born June 25, 1929, in Bradford, he was a son of the late William J. and Alice I. (Leipold) Stack.

On September 26, 1953 in the Emanuel Lutheran Church on Walker Ave. he married Joan L. (Stranburg) Stack who survives.

Mr. Stack was a 1947 graduate of Bradford High School. He joined the Army National Guard in 1947 and served with Company K , 112th Regiment. On September 5, 1950, he entered the US Army, served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Sgt. on November 30 1951. He had been employed at Dresser Manufacturing as an electrician for over 40 years retiring in 1991. He along with his wife, owned and operated Stack's Riding Stables & Tack Shop for several years.

He was a founding member of the Outlaw Corral Horse Club in Bradford and a former member of the Bradford Township Lions Club.

In addition to his wife of 56 years he is survived by two daughters, Kristie A. (Richard) Hatch of Limestone, NY, and Linda S. (Dennis) Thiel of Bradford, two sons, Jeffrey S. (Brenda) Stack, Sr. of Bradford, and William O. (Kim) Stack of Lusby, MD, fourteen grandchildren: Ryan Hatch of Lugoff, SC, Sean (Nicole) Hatch of Brandenburg, KY, Heather L. (Christopher) Laird of Attica, NY, Jeffrey S. (Tina) Stack, Jr.,of Bradford, Jessica J. Stack, of Bradford, Doug Thiel of Stevensville, MD, Julie (Jason) Piper of Kailua, HI, Dan Thiel of Bradford, Alex Stack, Breanna Stack, Kelsey Stack, Janelle Stack, Liam Stack and Sarah Stack all of Lusby MD, four great grandchildren Haley Stack, Aaron Stack, Savannah Piper, and Colton Piper, one niece Phyllis Quirino, and one nephew Jimmy Stack.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James Stack and an infant brother William.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, January 21, 2010, from 3 to 5 & 7 to 9PM, in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St. and again on Friday, January 22, 2010, in the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00AM followed by funeral and committal services at 11:00AM with Rev. Leo Gallina pastor of St. Bernard Church officiating.
