Let the planning begin!

Let the planning begin!

The “To Fill A Backpack” program will begin planning for a Walk/Bike/Skate-A-Thon to be held on May 15th, 2010 (this date will be confirmed at the meeting).

Anyone interested in helping to plan this fundraiser is asked to attend a meeting at the Roulette Fire Hall on January 12th, 2010. The meeting will start at 6:30pm and will last for approximately 1 hour or as long as it takes to get all the information gathered. Please come with ideas for check points, prizes to be awarded, etc. All suggestions will be acknowledged and discussed.

We will be looking for locations around the traveling path for the setup of our checkpoints, water stations, etc. If you would like to offer your front yard please feel free to attend the meeting or give us a call. We will be looking for at least 4 or 5 checkpoints and probably 4 or 5 water stations.

This fundraiser will be announced in all newspapers available in the area so we are hoping for it to be very big turnout. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please feel free to submit your suggestions via email to info@tofillabackpack.org or give us a call at (814) 544-8032 and leave a message if no one answers. We are planning on expanding in to more areas this year so we will need as much help as we can get with funding, etc.

Andy,

It may help if you would give a lil more information about exactly where you are planning the walk/bike/skate a-thon. I mean Roulette?? If so, where at? I would be will to help out but need a little bit more info!!

Thanks

10:00, With all do respect you did read the article didn't you? They are still PLANNING this event and are just asking for those who want to help to CONTACT them. This isn't until May, my GUESS is that they are still working out all of the details.

The "info" you would want is what they are still PLANNING.

Well 12:26, with all do respect, YES I read the article. I understand that it is still in the PLANNING phase, however, I figured if they were going to ask people to offer their front yards, they would have a location in mind.

You don't have to be IGNORANT and use caps like I'm a child. I just wanted more information if it were available to offer assistance and you have to be like that. Of course, I'm sure you are one of the ones who gets on here and rips everyone apart too. It was a simple question that did not require a response from someone like you obviously!!

Ok you guys/gals....there is no need to get huffy over my mistake. I'll give you what our plans are for now until the meeting and then hopefully finalize it then. My current plans are to start at the old 6B's Craft barn front yard and walk down to the Friendly, go up and around North Street and then back down Main to the starting line at the old 6B's Craft Barn. This is so much in the planning state that I have not had a chance to talk to the Township, Fay Hauber (it would be her front yard that we start in) nor the Fire Department to see about medical help on that day. It is definatly in the planning stages and the only ideas we have so far are mine that I threw together. I apologize for all the misunderstanding and hopefully this clears it up a little for right now....I will post more information after the meeting or as suggestions come rolling in. The more people that get involved the better. Thank you for the suggestions so far.

Hold on there 8:15, you might have read my post and interpreted it to be offensive, however I didn't write it that way. I was just "re-posting" what the article said.

No, I don't get on here and "rip everyone apart." I think that's childish!! Maybe relaxing and reading with a less aggressive attitude could help a lot of folks on here!

As for me responding to your question, whoever it was addressed to, if you'd rather someone not respond to you then don't post the question. Call or email them like the post says.
