Marguerite L. "Marnie" Mealey, 93, formerly of 33 Pearl Street, Bradford, and Lakewood, NY, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Heritage Green Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Home in Greenhurst NY.

Born September 5, 1916 in Kane she was a daughter of the late Godfery and Florence (Foust) Benson. She attended schools in Kane, and Frewsburg.

On September 15, 1939 in Port Allegany, she married Melvin Arvid Mealey who died November 15, 1997.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bradford, and the WIMODAUSIS of the church. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star #61, and of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and the Triangle Club.

Surviving is one daughter: Grace Ann Somers of Jamestown, one son: Gerald W. (Judy) Mealey of Huntingdon, one daughter in law: Phyllis Mealey of Chagrin, OH., and one son in law: Donald Somers of Gary, Ind., one sister: Bernice Swanson of Jamestown, NY, one brother: Donald (Lorraine) Benson of San Jose, CA, seven grandchildren: Bob (Jeannine) Mealey of OH, Mark Mealey of OH, Bart (Nancy) Somers of Ind., Jeff (Laura) Mealey, Sean Mealey, and Scott Mealey all of PA and Tammy Somers of Ind., several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son: Robert E. Mealey, one sister: Alice Benson, and one granddaughter: Diane Mealey.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 10:00am to 11:00am at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. South Ave. where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am with Rev. Dennis Swineford, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
