PennDOT Driver License, Photo Centers Closed Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Driver Licensing, Motor Vehicle Services Available Online

Harrisburg – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation today announced that all driver license and photo centers, including its full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed Saturday, Jan. 16 and Monday, Jan. 18 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Customers may still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services online through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services Web site, www.dmv.state.pa.us.

Driver and vehicle online services are available 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week and include driver’s license and photo ID renewals; vehicle registration renewal; driver-history services; change of address; and exam scheduling. There are no additional fees for using online services.

A complete listing of PennDOT driver and photo license center closings in 2010 is available on the Web site under “News, Stats and Facts.”
PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions before heading out.

Hey. Wait a minute. What does Saturday Jan. 16 have to do with Martin Luther King Jr. Day? Saturday Jan. 16 is NOT a holiday. What a tremendous disservice to the public from this state agency.

Well maybe Spendell should start with these state employees for his cut backs!

Hey writer at 6:38: that attitude is what is wrong with our system. It is bad enough to inconvenience the public on Monday but since it is a holiday for some people (still can't figure out why as there are not events to attend or anything to do that day to celebrate the life of Dr. King) perhaps it makes sense to close the office on that day.
But Saturday???? What an insult to the taxpayers and fee payers and the rest of the public.

Hey writer at 7:19 sorry you think I have an attitude but I really dont.Penn Dot has paid holidays and they work every Saturday for the public as a convenience to the public. They will be working Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday and Friday this week hope you can get your business done on one of those days.Safe driving to ya.....

Just went to DMV's site and scrolling message said offices also closed Friday at 12.30 pm, Saturday, and Monday in observance of MLK Day. What Gives? Wish I could get me one of those jobs where I just have to show up. everyone should be paid for RESULTS not effort. FYI, the unions have done this to us, not the good workers.
