Randy H. Abbey, 48, of Ulysses, PA

Randy H. Abbey, 48, of Ulysses, PA, died Thursday, January 7, 2010 in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.

Born October 10, 1961, in Wellsboro, PA, he was the son of Hugh J. and H. Virginia Lewis Abbey. On October 3, 1981, in Whitesville, NY, he married the former Patti K. Stanford, who survives.

He was employed by Gas Field Specialists in Millport, PA and previously employed as a logger by Sherwood Enterprises, Inc. in Ulysses for 22 years.

Surviving besides his wife, Patti, are: three daughters, Nicole (Michael) Daniels, Heather (Brad) Empson, and Carrie Abbey, all of Ulysses; four grandchildren, Damon Empson, Kaylea Empson, Ty Daniels, and Owen Daniels; his mother, H. Virginia (Harold) Alexander of Wellsboro; a brother, James (Kim) Abbey of Tunnelton, WV; three sisters, Marilyn (Tom) Hunter of Knoxville, PA, Eva (David) Buckley of Ulysses, and Linda Eick of Osceola, PA; his step-mother, Violet Abbey of Knoxville, TN; step-sisters and step-brothers; four aunts, Evelyn Allen and Mary (James) Potter, both of Westfield, PA, Norma Fox of Bath, NY, and Jessie Abbey of Lakeland, FL; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a grandson, Gage Michael Ervolino.

Friends may call Monday, January 11, 2010 from 2:00 -- 4:00 and 7:00 -- 9:00 PM at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA, where Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Jason K. Reed will officiate. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
