TWO DEFENDANTS AWAIT SENTENCING AFTER ENTERING PLEA BARGAINS

Two defendants will be sentenced on February 10 after pleading guilty this week in Potter County Court. Cody Yentzer, 20, of Coudersport pleaded guilty to Reckless Endangerment (M2). According to Potter County District Attorney Andy Watson, On June 20, 2009 Coudersport and Sweden Valley Police responded to a call of an overdose in Sweden Township, Potter County. The drugs obtained by the victim were Methadone and Oxycodone, both schedule 2 drugs. Upon investigation it was determined that the drugs were illegally obtained by the victim from Yentzer . The DA said Yentzer gave awritten statement admitting he took the pills from his residence, give them to the victim and they were not prescribed to him.

Donovan Freece, 30 of Fairport, NY pleaded guilty to Criminal Conspiracy (M2), and Theft by Unlawful Taking (M2).According to DA Watson, On 7/18/2009, while at the Shinglehouse Saloon, Freece along with a co-defendant; Michael Frederick, reached over the bar and stole approximately $100.00 from the bartender. Good Job Andy although if you don't get the person that gave Yentzer the drugs then the kingpin is still out there.I hope to be readin about his or her arrest soon before they sell these drugs to someone else and we are reading about another overdose.

Theft by unlawful taking?
Only a dildine would think that stealing something is lawful.
Shouldnt it just be theft?

If you read the article it states that Yentzer obtained the drugs from his residence. I personally know a lot of information about this case. This has nothing whatsoever to do with the so-called "kingpin" of drug dealing in Coudersport. Furthermore, nothing at all is mentioned about the "victim" who supposedly overdosed and, by his own admission, had been drinking large quantities of alcohol and smoking marijuana prior to ingesting the methadone. Also, the "victim" did not have posession of the Oxycodone, only the Methadone. Someone needs to get their facts right. Actually Mr. Jones I will be surprised if you print this at all..............

Wake up people ! This could be any of you if you have ever had a prescription for any kind of medication and have teens in your home. The newest craze in Coudy, Ulysses, Port, Austin, etc. is "pill parties". This consists of a bunch of kids coming in and dumping handfuls of prescription pills into a bowl. The pills are then stirred up and everyone takes a handful. There may be pain pills, allergy pills, cardiac meds, whatever these kids can get from their parents' medicine cabinets. This is not an isolated incident but a common happening. It is hard to imagine that you cannot trust your child but peer pressure is a terrible thing and the need to "fit in" is a driving force in most teens. So please please keep a close eye on your meications and also on your teenager !

I said on another topic on this blog. Kids lost respect when the door to the medicine cabinet was left open by you.. How true it seems, the respect for ones life being the victim or the giver is gone. Once that door is opened the narcotic's create zombies. Keep up the anti-marijuana campaigns blinding out the real problems the children face. You all can see how your work has accomplished nothing with the lack of anti-narcotic campaigns, rather then extensive anti-marijauna campaigns.

Well, Potter County never deals with facts, hearsay is what this area works best with. I agree there's no "KINGPIN" giving these drugs to the kids. Those drugs mentioned are getting prescribed more & more. It's dangerous. I know of parents who pop their childrens Adderall. I feel doctors who prescribe this stuff should have to monitor their patients better. I have a son in his 20's, there's a few people who get these drugs under false pretenses just to sell em on the streets here. Medicaid foots the bill for the script & doctor visit. So theres your "Kingpin". Theres a 20ish girl that gets xanax & SSI. Her meds are sold on the street here too.

To poster 11:13 AM: Do you personally know any of these people or anything about the true situation ? If not, then maybe you need to get your facts straight and not believe everything that the Leader "Emptyprise" prints. What that paper prints is rarely the whole story and/or the true facts. And how can you possibly have any idea what kind of judgement will be meted out to these people ? Are you part of the Potter County Justice System ? I sincerely doubt it.

Poster 5:13 AM was correct. I know a couple of people who get their prescriptions paid for with the access card then turn around and sell them for cash. I turned the one person into the Welfare Office but she still continues to get her drugs paid for with MY tax dollars and then turns around and gets CASH for them on the street. Wheres the fairness in that?!

To the investigator's, Court Reporters, Law Enforcement, and Attorney's on here who have retired so that you can now spit gossip and heresay about others, the facts are what were stated in the news release. Any other information must not be what you are entitled to right now.

Well the news report is not entirely correct. I know the Yentzer kid and he is only nineteen.

Hey poster 11:13: How do you know that he got the pills from his mother ? I know I read that she was charged with taking some from her workplace but not that she was convicted and I haven't heard anything else about it. What happened to innocent until proven guilty ? Or do you see yourself as Judge, Jury and Executioner ?

just another Potter County coverup...no judging here just years of obsevation....

OMG!!! County Cover up?? Where do you people come from?? You can read the entire Criminal Complaint for yourself!! It's public record and the site to find it on has been put on here several times. You're reading a News Release.....all that does is sum up the charges....what that covers up in the conspiracy theory is beyond me.

Geez folks, find something better to do!! How a mole hill becomes the biggest Potter County Mountain is beyond me!!!
