Robert R. Edgcomb, 91, of 112 Alba St., Knoxville, PA

Robert R. Edgcomb, 91, of 112 Alba St., Knoxville, Pa., passed away Jan. 13, 2010 at home with his family.

Born Aug. 13, 1918 in Knoxville to Roy W. and Gladys Glover Edgcomb, Bob was a graduate of Knoxville High School and Elmira Business Institute. A Veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific, Bob attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Bob served as Postmaster in Knoxville for 25 years and also worked at W.H. Edgcomb and Sons in Knoxville.

He was a 70 year member and Past Master of Cowanesque Lodge #351 F & AM and Coudersport Consistory A.A.S.R. A long time scouter, Bob served as Cubmaster of Pack 22; former member of Knoxville-Deerfield Volunteer Fire Company, member of Howard S. Lines VFW, Knoxville, former Knoxville Borough Council member, an active volunteer for Little League Baseball, local historian, and always active in civic matters.

Survived by his wife of 63 years, Hazel Perry Edgcomb; son Brian W. (Cheryl) Edgcomb, Knoxville, Pa.; daughter Donna J. (Doug) Kosa, Ulysses, Pa.; grandchildren Shannon M. (David) Kemp, Knoxville, James R. (Michelle) Edgcomb, Lawrenceville, Joshua Kosa, Ulysses, Elaine (Jeremy) King, Charlotte, N.C., and Kaitlyn (Matthew) Long, Genesee, Pa.; four great-grandsons Christian, Coen and Carsyn Kemp and Kaleb Long; special nieces and nephew Hilma (Keith) Cooper, Wellsboro, Pa., Mary Williams, Elmira, N.Y., Judy (John) Griggs, Haymarket, Va., and Alan (Diane) Forsberg, Wellsville, N.Y. Bob was predeceased by his sister Helen Edgcomb Forsberg, and is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, several cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. The family respectfully requests no flowers. Memorial donations may be sent to Cub Scout Pack 22, c/o Brandi Fitzwater, Treasurer, 4410 Rt. 49, Knoxville, PA, 16928.

Arrangements are in care of the Kenyon Funeral Home, Elkland, Pa.
