Two Uninjured In Coneville Road Sideswipe Crash

Oswayo Drivers Unhurt
Two Oswayo residents were uninjured when their vehicles sideswiped on the Coneville Road, (the dirt road cut off from Rt. 44 to Rt. 244 at Coneville).

Cheryl Ann Danielewicz, 51, of 33 School Street, Oswayo, was driving a 2002 Ford Escort north on Coneville Road and William James Simpson, 53, of 471 E. Main Street, Oswayo was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado south on Coneville Road.

Danielewicz was traveling too fast for the road conditions, and attempted to slow down, as the two vehicles approached each other. Her Escort began to slide in the snow covered road and side-swiped Simpson's Silverado. Following impact, the Escort slid north along the roadway finally striking an embankment off the east side of the road.

The Escort received disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Dave's Body Shop, Shinglehouse. The Silverado received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

Both operators were wearing seatbelts and were not injured.

Danielewicz will be charged with (not) Driving Vehicle At Safe Speed in District Court 55-4-01, according to State Police who investigated.
