William W. Hogan, 93, formerly of 4 Adrienne Drive, South Yarmouth, MA

William W. Hogan, 93, formerly of 4 Adrienne Drive, South Yarmouth, MA, passed away Thursday, January 7th, 2010 at Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born July 20, 1916, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Edward H. and Margaret (Purcell) Hogan.

On Dec. 27, 1941 in St. Bernard Church in Bradford, PA he married Betty E. (Rodebaugh) Hogan who passed away June 28, 1985. On November 9, 1985, St. Pius X Church in South Yarmouth, MA, he married Rita Daly Hogan who survives.

A 1934 graduate of St. Bernard High School, he received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from St. Bonaventure University in 1949, and his master's degree in Taxation from the Graduate Tax Program at the University of Denver in 1972.

In 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in China, Burma, and The Indian Theater. He was honorably discharged in 1946 at the rank of Major and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves as Lt. Colonel until his retirement.

He worked as a Certified Public Accountant and an airline financial executive at New York Airways, BWIA, Frontier Airlines. He retired on August 1, 1981 as Vice President and Treasurer of Frontier Airlines in Denver.

He was a member of St. Bernard Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 403. He was also a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in South Yarmouth, MA, and the St. Pius X Men's Club.

He was a member of the Bass River Yacht Club, The Bass River Golf Club and the Mid-Cape Men's Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Dorothy A. (Sharon O'Shields) Hogan of Reston VA; Margaret A. (Michael) Whitney of Bend OR, Elizabeth (Hank) Schmidt of Brighton, CO.,
two sons William W. (Mari-Ann) Hogan Jr. of Belmont Mass, Robert F. (Eileen) Hogan of Hackettstown NJ; four step children: Daniel W. (Paula) Daly of Houston TX, David J. (Shirley) Daly Winter Park FL, Thomas R. (Abbe) Daly of Arlington VA, and Marcia A. (James) McAndrew of Bradford, 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one niece.

In addition to his parents, and first wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward M. Hogan and Donald Hogan.

Friends are invited to call on Monday, January 11, 2010 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St. Friends are also invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Tuesday in St. Bernard Church, with Rev. Leo J. Gallina, pastor as Celebrant. Military Honors will be accorded at the church following the Mass. Burial will be in The Veteran's Cemetery in Bourne, MA.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Bernard Church, The Bradford Ecumenical Home, St. Pius X Church in South Yarmouth, Mass., or the charity of the donor's choice.
