Bruce E. Milliron, 53, Orange Park, FL

ORANGE PARK, FL - Bruce E. Milliron, 53, passed away Friday (Feb. 19, 2010) at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Born Feb. 1, 1957, in Olean, NY, he was a son of Donald E. and Nancy Hosmer Milliron. He married Kathleen B. Kohn, who survives.

Mr. Milliron was a 1975 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School. He later attended the Williamsport Technical Institute and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. He had worked for five years at Hysol Corp. in Olean, NY. Following, he had operated the Otto Service Center in Duke Center, PA for 25 years. He was employed as service manager at Mastel Ford in Olean, and after moving to Florida in 2002, he was a service manager at the Garber Auto Mall in Green Cove Springs. He had been employed as an independent insurance agent for Amerilife Insurance Co. in Jacksonville, FL, for five years prior to his illness.

Mr. Milliron embodied the spirit of the community by mentoring many Duke Center and Eldred, PA youths through his seven years as a baseball coach. He was past president of the Little Nippers football league and played a crucial role in obtaining the lights for the Otto-Eldred High School football field. He was a past member of the Otto-Eldred Sports Boosters, the Otto Township Investors Club and the Duke Center Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and watching NASCAR and the Dallas Cowboys.

Surviving in addition to his wife are, his father, Donald Milliron of Rixford, PA; two sons, Kyle Milliron of Orange Park and Hobie Milliron at home; three daughters, Erica (Larry) Schneider of Orange Park, Hannah Milliron at home and Tereina Stidd of West Palm Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Alexis and Brooklynn Schneider; brother, Todd Milliron of Eldred, PA; two sisters, Patricia (Gregory) Rhinehart of Duke Center, PA and Lisa (Bill) Greek of Lewis Run, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother on Nov. 24, 2008.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the First Church of God in Eldred with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Moody Hollow Cemetery, Coryville, PA.

The family requests memorials be made to the First Church of God, the Otto Township Volunteer Fire Department or the American Cancer Society.

Bruce was loved by many. He was kind and always had a smile for those around him. I was honored to know him for many years! He will be deeply missed. Much love to Kathy and the kids!
