David J. Clonan, 66, of Coudersport, PA

David J. Clonan, 66, of Coudersport, PA died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at his residence on Elk Street.

Born on April 9, 1943 in Buffalo, NY he was the son of Joseph V. Clonan, Sr., and Jane Marie Callaghan Clonan. He was formerly married to Jean E. Bailey Clonan.

Mr. Clonan had been employed with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board working in Coudersport, Bradford, Port Allegany and Emporium. He was a member of St. Eulalia Catholic Church, the Port Allegany Moose, and was a social member of American Legion Potter Post 192. He had also been a past member and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Emporium, PA.

Mr. Clonan enjoyed golfing and annual camping trips with his family.

Surviving are four daughters, Christina M. “Tina” Clonan of Coudersport, Kimberly A. Pennington of Emporium, Michelle F. (Robert) Hostler of Linden, NC, Denise K. Stewart of Texarkana, AR, nine grandchildren, Christopher, Justin, Brandon, Craig, Kendra, Andrew, Shamus, Bailey, and Ryan, four great-grandchildren, Gavin, Rheyanna, Averie, and Arianna, four brothers, Joseph V. (Judy) Clonan, Jr., of Fitchburg, MA, Daniel D. (Brenda) Clonan, of Emporium, Patrick Clonan of New York State, and Michael F. (Jackie) Clonan of Cheektowaga, NY, eight sisters, Margaret Clonan of Clarence Center, NY, Maryellen (Murray) Stoddard of Erie, PA, Jeanette (Thomas) Reily of Getzville, NY, Veronica (Bill) Ulrich, Catherine (Ted) Smith, and Noreen (Bob) Kline, all of York, PA, Rita (Douglas) Greenbush of Savannah, GA, and Brigid (Mark) Monica of North Collins, NY, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three infant siblings.

Friends may call at the Fickinger Funeral Home in Coudersport, PA from 4:00pm – 7:00pm Saturday and 2:00pm – 4:00pm Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday at St. Eulalia Catholic Church with the Reverend James Campbell, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Tina and Family,

He will be greatly missed. He was a wonderful man and a great neighbor. He did anything and everything for anyone even when he wasn't asked. many times without asking anything back. Matter fact he wouldn't allow us to give him anything to help. This street will be different.
