Donald A. DeHaven, 75, of Lower Grimes Rd., Port Allegany, PA

PORT ALLEGANY- Donald A. DeHaven, 75, of Lower Grimes Rd., died Tuesday (Feb. 2, 2010) in Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA.

Born March 12, 1934, in Austin, PA, he was a son of Walter P. and Agnes Atkins DeHaven. On June 26, 1954, in Port Allegany, he married Norma J. Grimes, who survives.

Mr. DeHaven was a lifetime resident of the area and employed by Pittsburgh Corning Co., Port Allegany, in the Glass Block Department, before retiring in May 1992.

He was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Port Allegany, National Rifle Association, and was an avid hunter, camper and motorcyclist.

Surviving are a son, Gregory D. DeHaven of Bradford; three daughters, Karen S. DeHaven of Kodak, TN, Lisa D. DeHaven of Port Allegany, and Paula J. DeHaven of Sevierville, TN; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grand-children, a brother, Walter A. (Ann) DeHaven of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Arnold DeHaven, Joseph DeHaven; and two sisters, Ethel DeHaven and Iola Pockey

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (Feb. 5, 2010) with Rev. Beth Rosler, pastor of the Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.

Memorials can be made to the Port Area Ambulance Service.
