Gilbert E. Parish, 92, of Turtlepoint, formerly of Port Allegany, PA

Turtlepoint - Gilbert E. Parish, 92, of Turtlepoint, formerly of Port Allegany died Friday (February 26, 2010) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.

He was born Oct 24, 1917 in Port Allegany, a son of Joseph H. and Lena E. Grabe Parish, On April 15, 1939 in Port Allegany, PA, he married Eva S. Strait, who died Jan. 17, 2003.

Mr. Parish was a 1936 graduate of Port Allegany High School.

He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving from 1944 to 1946.

Mr. Parish was a Supervisor, employed by North Penn Gas Co. for 43 years, retiring in 1979.

He was an avid hunter and enjoyed making maple syrup.

He was a member of Eulalia Lodge#342 Free and Accepted Masons, of Coudersport, PA., and
Was a 50 year member of The Coudersport Consistory. He also belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6391, Port Allegany, PA

He is survived by
Two sons: Joseph D. (Ursula) Parish of Turtlepoint, PA, Wayne E. (Dian) Parish of Turtlepoint, PA
Four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mr. Parish was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers and 1 sister

At Mr. Parish's request there will be no visitation. Private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
