Perdix Fire Company officers Have Filed Suit Over Shutdown of Fire Company

Perdix Fire Company sues Penn Township over ordinance abolishing fire department

Perdix Fire Company officers have filed suit in Perry County Court, claiming supervisors in Penn Township broke the law in passing an ordinance on Jan. 8 to shut down the company.

Perdix officers contend that the supervisors didn't give the public adequate advance notice that they'd planned to designate the Duncannon Fire Company to provide fire protection to the township or that they'd planned to exclude the Perdix unit from operating in the township.

Also, Perdix officers claim the supervisors don't have the authority to abolish their company. They want the court to void the township ordinance. More...

Im sure Duncannon Fire Co. will do an even better job then the Perdix fire company could ever do.

Maybe the township should look at the qualifications of the firefighters fof both companies, training records, maint. records, and call records. They should also look at response time to all locations within the Twp.

As far as the Two fire companies go what ever happened to the brotherhood of Firefighters.
