No how about THANK GOD I HAVE A JOB that should be what you are saying

Look around you-HELLO-Be happy you have a job.

For these people to get a cap on insurance is a rarity in this day and age. i think 65 cents is a little low for wage increase over 3 yrs, but with the uncertainty of the economy it could be much much worse.

Didn't the workers of CCMH just take a pay cut across the board from top management right down the line? I would say any job is better than no job!

If you do not agree take a trip to some of the areas of the commonwealth that have either slowed down or shut down large plants...

Agreed. Another time we employees get screwed. And don't tell me to be grateful we have jobs. I don't wanna hear it. There's a reason we have a contract and they keep screwing us each year. all because a couple people don't wanna walk the line. Suck it up and make the changes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get real!!!

ATLEAST YOU HAVE A JOB!!!

I would like to thank the people on the committee for their time and effort on the contract.Although we all would liked to have had more.I believe It's good in some ways especially the percentage gain on the 401k based on years of service you basically get a 3% to 5% raise with no taxes withheld

The contract may suck, but at least you are still working. With the number of jobs that have been lost so far, and the people who worked for years just to have their jobs "eliminated", you should feel fortunate you are still receiving a paycheck.

Be glad they don't just shut that place down and ship all your jobs to Mexico.

I know how many of you work up there, maybe if some of you got off your duffs and actually worked you would have a better contract.

Too many people that want the world but don't want to work for anything.

No one owes you anything.

You people are lucky you got a raise at all. We haven't gotten a raise at Level 3 in several years.....you don't hear me complaining though...becasue I'm grateful to have a JOB!!

Whiners....you can thank the Unions for the country being in the position it is in...they may not be directly to blame, but they certainly don't help any more.

Todd I figured for sure that you and Irv and Richard and the others who have been around the block for a while would get Dildine Day put into the contract as a holiday. Ha ha ha. Good work anyhow. Already missing the days in Shipping.

the ones crying are probabley the same ones who'd beat their spouse up for dumb things too.

quit if it's so bad there and become a lazy welfare collector.

The only ones that took a paycut at CCMH were the regularly salaried and hourly people, not the nurses or any contracted employee (ie physical therapists & assistants, occupational therapists & assistants, physician assistants, CRNAs, etc.) They could have generated ALOT more income or maybe not would have had to cut so much if they would have included those people. But yes, most of them are thankful that they still have jobs. Just wish it would have truly been a cut "across the board".

Lets hope Sundays vote puts this to rest and everyone works together. Factory jobs are disappearing from the USA so we are lucky we still have this one. To PG -- Dildine Day already is a holiday. Started out with the Fousts in the old Pure Carbon days when Laurelwood was Sam's and the Ice Mine was still open. Remember they would chill the dildines at the Ice Mine and then keep them over at Sam's in a big tub out back by the bar entrance. Employees could go over on break. It wasn't a day off but it was a holiday.

... drinking on the job???

Some people will never be satisfied. instead of being thankful they have a job...they whine and complain it's not good enough, their not paid enough..etc..etc. Show some gratitude for what you do have and suck it up. It could be worse and there certainly are those who would like to have the opportunity to have what some treat so casually and feel entitled to. You're no better than anyone else some gratitude instead of complaining. We are entitled to nothing; it is but for the Grace of God go all of us.

How did the vote turn out? I used to hang around the place when it was Sam's and I do not remember anything from the Ice Mine being stored outside in a tub. What are those things anyhow?

The contract passed! 105 yes to 91 no. For those people you complain all the time about their job and contract, seem to always have NOTHING to say when they have an opportunity to speak their mind. Be thankful to have a job!

Insiders say it passed 105 to 91.

"Insiders say it passed 105 to 91."

Does it mean that there will be 91 new job openings Monday? Does it mean that those 91 are quitting Monday?

Anonymous said...

Those 91 are going over to the Laurelwood to visit the tub out back!
