“The Living Stations of the Cross” Sunday At St. Eulalia

“The Living Stations of the Cross”

“The Living Stations of the Cross” will be presented March 28 at 7:30 PM at St. Eulalia Catholic Church, Coudersport, PA.

Presented by the St. Eulalia Youth Group, “The Living Stations” are a reenactment of the stations of the cross which are a depiction of final hours of Jesus as He
carried the cross to Calvary.

It is our intent to make this prayerful reflection of the suffering of Jesus more relevant to the present day

society. This is achieved by allowing the students to actually become the players in the presentation, using thought provoking text, including
scripture readings, and dialogue which attempts to draw the meaning of
the stations into daily life.

The action is set against a backdrop of
costuming, scenery, contemporary music, and special lighting effects.
Veronica wipes the face of Jesus, Mary meets her afflicted son, Simon
helps to carry the cross, Jesus falls carrying the cross, and the
Crucifixion are examples of some of the stations to be reenacted.

This is the fifth year that the St. Eulalia Youth Group has presented this dramatic rendition of the stations of the cross. Members of the Youth Group include Cal Bretz, James Brown, Tori Brown, Joshua Bucheit, Ashley Chitester, Anthony Cowburn, Zach Elenchin, Alex Furman, Jillian Furman, Scott Furman, Taylor Green, Brian Kane, Jennifer Kane, Vince Marzo, Maureen McCusker, Tim McCusker, Amanda Morey, Angela Smoulder, Chelsey Streich, Patrick Valenti, and Kevin Wolfinger.

After each performance the audience members are invited to a reception for refreshments in the St. Eulalia Parish Center .

The performance is approximately one hour in length and there will be a free will offering
to support the St. Eulalia Youth Group and the Coudersport Area
Ministerium Emergency Fund.

This is a very moving re-enactment of the suffering and death of Jesus on the Cross. The St. Eulalia Youth Group does an outstanding performance and I urge all who have not seen it to attend.
You will be held spellbound.
