Natural Gas--Chief Says We Can Do It If We Work Together

Gas company officials discuss Marcellus Shale

PENNSDALE - It is possible to develop natural gas resources in the Marcellus Shale while maintaining the region's quality of life, Richard Adams, senior regulatory advisor for Texas-based Chief Oil and Gas, told a group of conservationists Tuesday night.

Adams, who spoke during the Lycoming County Conservation District's 50th annual awards banquet at the Trinity United Methodist Church hall here, said it will take a concerted effort by the industry, regulators, conservation and watershed organizations and local citizens to make sure gas development is done in a way that improves, not diminishes, the area's quality of life.

"We can do it if we work together," Adams said.

"the availability of affordable energy plays a major role in an area's quality of life".

Then why are outsiders coming in here, pumping OUR gas, and selling it in NJ?

If Chief Oil from Texas cares about us, why not pump our gas, and keep it here locally so our prices plummet?

Sounds like a carpet bagger to me!

"Bend over, this won't hurt a bit"!

Get a grip! First thing is it isn't "our gas" unless you own the oil, gas and minerals, and if you do, then it is YOUR gas, not OURS.

Very foolish. Natural gas prices are measured by the cf in thousandths. That price is almost always consistent across the country and is traded on the Nymex, Henry Hub, etc. We pay hightened prices for residential gas b/c of the rediculous supply charges and misc fees charged by the suppliers, PPL, UGI, etc

That should be per thousand cubic ft not thousandths.

$3.97/1000' cubic ft

not

$3.97/.001 cubic ft

the regions quality of life hmmmmmmmmmmm seems to me if they really wanted to help maintain the way of life or improve it they would hire some of the local people who are qualified to do some of the jobs, instead of bringing their own people and the mexicans hmmmm wonder how many actually have green cards.
