Open Arms Church To Launch New Church Service

Open Arms Church To Launch New Church Service

BRADFORD – Open Arms Community church will be starting new service times beginning on Sunday, March 28. The new times for Sunday worship services will be at 9:15am and 11:00am.

Pastor Mike McAvoy says, “We are excited about the forward movement we are seeing and the lives that are being changed. We anticipate even greater things as we provide another time for people to be able to attend our services.”

Open Arms Community Church was formed in October of 2002, with McAvoy starting as pastor in September of 2003. Since its launch Open Arms has made it a priority to approach ministry with both a “come and see” and “go and tell” approach. The church is welcoming of people from all walks of life- anyone from a churched background or a completely unfamiliar with church.

The church utilizes rock music, modern graphic design, and video to connect an ancient faith to a post-modern audience. McAvoy says, "While the message remains unchanged, the methods are constantly changing." He explains that for a church to reach out to a newer generation, the styles and delivery may be different than it used to be, but the church's historic motivation of compassion and concern is at the root of everything they do.

“From the start we’ve tried to be an out-of-the-box ministry,” says McAvoy “and while seeing the church reach more people has always been important, a recent quote I heard from Rick Warren says it all, ‘A church content with not growing is saying to a lost world ‘You can go to hell’. Growth requires unselfish members and sacrifice.’ And this would be a great way to describe the fuel that motivates us to continue to reach out, change things, and do all that we can to provide more opportunities for people to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.”

Open Arms Community Church can be reached by Phone: 368-8846, Email: openarmsoffice@gmail.com, and website: www.openarmsbradford.org. Open Arms is 1 mile North of Wal-Mart at 1289 E. Main St. Bradford.
