Shame on you 4:55!! Keep your nasty comments to yourself. Some of us are Christians and love God's Word!!

There are a big difference between Christians and hypocrites. You people can pray and judge others all you want...God makes all of the judgements in the end. There is also a big difference between fellowship and a business. I know that I don't have to make a required 10 to 15 percent "payment" out of my bi-weekly pay check to get the Lords attention and blessing. The God that I pray to doesn't have any requirements of me other than my devotion.

If you read the bible, God does speak of a 10% tithe! But then again, I guess some people don't read the bible!! Gospel Tabernacle has an awesome service and a wonderful place to worship our glorious Lord!!!

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!!!!!

"God does speak of a 10% tithe", I have never come across this in the bible, could you please point me in the right direction? Thank You

Don't matter what your opinion is, but when it comes to religion It should just be an advertisment and not open to comments. JMO

Where do you think the word "tithe" came from.
Look it up.
You are not required to give 10% at the Tabernacle.
You can give 0 if 10% offends you. Many of the churchs in town have members who believe that a tithe is an offering, not just us. The Tabernacle just wants the Gospel of peace and forgiveness through Christ to be a part of peoples lives.
We have an open congregation at the Tabernacle and there are many good people there as well as some hurt and broken and we try to help them all. You go to Church to worship the Lord, if you are looking for a perfect people then it isnt the Gospel and and I doubt that there is a congregation that will EVER meet your expectation. The word is "holy" not "holly"
it isn"t Christmas.

Read the Book of Malachi in the Old Testament for guidance on tithing.

To poster 4:55: Please learn how to spell. Your ignorance is showing!

Maybe the tithe IS in the bible but the last time I checked the new testament was written by MAN less than 2,000 years ago. I could be mistaken (sarcasm) but I don't think God was the author of the book and I doubt whoever wrote it had a conversation with God about how much money people should give to the church. In fact, I believe he is appalled at what man has turned organized religion into.

I encourage faith but don't let it blind intelligence.

I'm not saying that a tithe is required and any church that has someone standing at the door demanding to see your pay check and requiring 10% is not a church I would go to. I was simply saying that a tithe is in the bible and an offering to God.

I know the tithe doesn't go directly to the Lord, I'm not ignorant. However, how do you think our churches fund their trips to do the LORD"S WORK!!!!

I grew up here that the Gospel Tabernacle was a "Holy Roller" place. Well I first visited that church about 8 years ago and let me tell you. I was amazed and astonished. I was caught off guard and very uncomfortable the first day because I had not been to a church like that. However something OBVIOUSLY caught, umm...like the spirit of the Lord there, because I returned several times over many many years.

Anyone knocking a church obviously has something going on. Regardless of the type of church, if you are worshiping our KING then NOTHING is wrong with it, however you or they select to do it!!! Be it quiet in prayer, or singing and dancing before the Lord as the bible said, IT IS ALL GOOD!!!

Christians
by Maya Angelou

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean livin'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain..
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say ... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!
