Belmont, NY Man Charged With Assault In Domestic Incident In Ulysses Township

Domestic Incident Brings Charges
State Police have released a report today of a Simple Assault/Domestic Violence incident that took place on April 10, 2010, at 12:30 PM, at a residence along Route 449 (South Brookland Road) in Ulysses Township, Potter County.


The report relates that Michael A. Livergood, 49, of 3826 State Route 244, Belmont, NY and a known female became involved in a verbal argument.

Livergood appeared at the victim's residence uninvited and was instructed to leave several times.


The incident escalated into a physical altercation between the couple, who are former paramours.

Livergood subjected the female to unwanted physical contact by pushing and shoving her to such an extent that she sustained physical injury.

Additionally, he kicked the door of the residence several times, damaging it beyond repair. He left the residence with the victim's phone in his possession.

Livergood was arraigned today before District Judge Annette Easton, who released him on $5,000. unsecured bail for a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 3rd at 10:00 AM.

Livergood is charged with SIMPLE ASSAULT; THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING; CRIMINAL TRESPASS; HARASSMENT; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF; AND A SUMMARY CRIMINAL TRESPASS COUNT.

Police reported the case will be presented to District Judge Delores G. Bristol in District Court 55-4-03
in Galeton, PA.
