Beverly J. HESS, 78, of Ulysses, PA

Beverly J. HESS, 78, of Ulysses, PA, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in the Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, PA.

Born November 7, 1931, in Ithaca, NY, she was the daughter of Clifford G. and A. Isabelle Perry Reynolds. On May 27, 1952, in Harrison Valley, PA, she married Love S. Hess, who predeceased her on September 22, 2006.

She was employed by Grange National Bank in Ulysses and Citizens and Northern Bank in Knoxville for many years. Beverly was a member of the Mills Union Church and the Order of the Eastern Star #95 in Ulysses, serving as worthy matron and district deputy.

Surviving are: a son, Richard K. (Paula) Hess of Ulysses; three daughters, Marcia Newcomb of Sabinsville, PA, Jeanette (Roger) Barker of Ulysses, and Kathleen Jo (David) Smoker of Gold, PA; 11 grandchildren, Thomas H. Newcomb, Daniel B. Newcomb, Rynell (Bert) Currier, Kent (Amy) Barker, Kimberly Barker, Joshua Smoker, Katelyn Smoker, Lacee Hess, Hunter Hess, Caden Hess, and Tanner Hess; three great-grandchildren, Desarae Currier, Tyler Barker, and Aiden Barker; a sister, Mary Lou (Howard) Lewis of Coudersport, PA; five sisters-in-law, Janice Reynolds of Harrison Valley, Ada Reynolds and Patricia Allen, both of Westfield, Melva Calaman of Sabinsville, and Clara Hess of Little Marsh; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Rex Reynolds, Clifford Reynolds, Jr., and William Reynolds.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Mills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mills Union Church, P.O. Box 11, Mills, PA 16937. Arrangements are entrusted to the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA.
