Drilling Companies With More Money Than God Can't Afford To Pay Tax, But Homeowners Can

Commissioners hit Corman on severance tax

LOCK HAVEN EXPRESS- Begging your pardon, Sen. Jake Corman, but these local officials ARE looking at a state severance tax on natural gas production.

At Thursday's meeting of the Clinton County commissioners, board members struggled to make sense of the recent comments made by the key Republican senator, who appears to be discouraging just such a tax as a way to bridge the growing revenue gap at the state level - a problem which would almost certainly trickle down to the county government level.

Regardless, Corman, R-Bellefonte, is saying that it is too early to discuss taxing natural gas extraction from the Marcellus Shale. He said he considers Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell's proposal "off the table" until the industry is established. More...

Please keep this a secret.

The Marcellus "play" won't be stopped by a reasonable, small percentage tax. But it might come to a screeching end when the public realizes how radioactive it is! The brine and wastewater, the "mud", and even the GAS is radioactive!

There is no safe way to harvest, transport and use Marcellus gas! As Peter J Davis (Cornell University) describes it "it's highly radioactive".

The "Marcellus Play" is done when the public finds out!

BTW- It may be the only way the truth gets out is through the internet, and great sites like this one! Google: "radioactive Marcellus" if you want an education!
